The majority of these attacks were conducted by the aggrieved indigenous people fighting against the belligerent foreign invaders. Some of the suicide attacks have sectarian tinge but even these untoward episodes are triggered by the alien aggressive forces to fish in troubled waters by flaring the already smoldering flames of sectarianism. If waging an illegal war engrossed in vested interests on a sovereign country inhabiting poverty-stricken population is justified then suicide bombing in retaliation to target the loaded aggressive forces to win freedom is totally justified.
Saddam Hussein was the darling of USA in the past. America fully supported hawkish dictatorial regime during Iran-Iraq war (1980-88).The U.S. equipped Iraqi forces with chemical weapons that they used against the advancing Iranian troops during the termination phase of war. Iraq was on losing end but use of deadly weapons by its army changed scenario of war due to massive casualties of the Iranians. Subsequent defying posture of the despotic ruler annoyed Uncle Sam. Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990 and incorporated it as its 25th province. The incursion by Iraqi forces infuriated U.S. because of its oil concerns in Kuwait. The western allies sent their coalition forces in Kuwait that led to retreat of Iraqi forces. Afterward, economic and military sanctions were imposed on Iraq so that financial crippling of the country can weaken the stronghold of the Baathist regime. The western powers also ignited sectarianism and ethnic warfare to fracture the county by fanning a civil war. But all maneuverings failed because Kurd and Shia uprisings were successfully packed down by the totalitarian ruler. Therefore, the Iraqi regime in power and its armed forces survived despite stringent sanctions, and internal rifts and conflicts on ethnic and sectarian basis in the country.
George W Bush was seeking pretext to attack Iraq much before the 9/11 tragedy. O'Neil is of the view that plan to attack this Middle Eastern country was prepared much before the Nine Eleven tragedy.1Bush time and again expressed his ambition to settle old scores with Saddam Hussein whom he considered the man behind the assassination attempt on his father George Herbert Walker Bush. Therefore, after coming to power G W Bush had aspiration to teach a lesson to the Iraqi autocrat ruler. The 9/11 tragedy provided an opportunity to Bush administration to link Saddam Hussein with al-Qaeda that was a shadowy organization alleged to be involved in the Nine Eleven calamity. Iraq was declared as one of the Axes of Evil in Bush State of Union address of 2003.2The paranoid western media propagated that Iraq headed by a tyrant ruler possessed WMDs that can endanger global peace.
Before launching attack three overt motives of pre-emptive attack on Iraq were described by the Bush administration. Firstly, to get rid of dictatorship of Saddam Hussein to democratize the country, secondly, to seize the Weapons of Mass Destruction and thirdly, to capture the members of al-Qaeda harboring in Iraq that have links with the Iraqi regime in place. However, the ulterior motives of the Allied troops were to suck black gold of Iraq, establish foothold to spread tentacles in the Middle Eastern oil rich region and to protect their brainchild Israel so that it can continuously play the role of a watchdog to safeguard their self-centered interests in the region.
The slogan of democracy is the greatest fraud conceived by the so-called western democrats that provide them a handy ploy to intimidate and attack the weak nations that clash with their egocentric interests. There is dictatorship in China and Russia but why does America not want to democratize the most populous country and the largest state respectively? It is because retaliation from these countries would be so strong that would shatter the castle of the USA. Why America always pampered dictatorship in Pakistan and whenever a democratic government comes to power Uncle Sam starts sweating. An independent judiciary is a pillar of democratic set-up but why is America opposing reinstatement of judges in Pakistan? Why is the U.S. perpetually pampering despotic rulers in several states of the CARs and the Middle East? It is because in these countries dictatorship can serve interests of America because majority of the populations in these countries hate the sole superpower of the world and a popularly elected government can clash with its interests by taking decisions according to will of the public. Although Allied troops have slaughtered hundreds of thousands of civilians and executed Saddam Hussein, murdered his sons and killed big guns of the Baathist regime but currently it has no intention to leave Iraq. Despite the lapse of more than five years of the attack a lame duck democracy with its bridles in the hands of US is in place in the war-ravaged country. Hamas and Hezbollah came into the corridors of power after contesting elections but why they became thorn in the side of western powers?
Do not be surprised if you get no response or only negative comments from the ignorant dumbass American public.
