Bush Blew It Again or How to Win the War

We are losing the war for the hearts and minds because we are not fighting it.

Dear World:

I am in constant amazement of the unbelievable way George Bush has blown so many opportunities but this one is why we will lose the war in Afghanistan. A while back “Duba” was sent a message by Osama bin Laden's number two Ayman Al Zawahiri. In the message Al Zawahiri told Bush that he should end his “evil ways”, join Al Qaeda and Zawahiri would teach him to be a Moslem.

This was Bush's big opportunity and he blew it. It was his chance to send back a message that he and the entire Moslem world were insulted by Al Zawahiri's message. That the message was a fist shaken in the face of every peace loving Moslem is the world not because it was a bad idea but because it was offered by one of the greatest offenders of Moslem law this century. However. Bush was not prepared for such an action.

What is needed is for our state department to form a Moslem relations task force made up of some of the thousands of Moslem leaders from the United States who have learned the value of Democracy. These clerics could then respond to insults like these and point out that Al Qaeda and its constituents are, by their very existence an insult and a disgrace to Islam.

Recently there was an incident about a British school teacher whose class had named a teddy bear, Mohamed. There were calls in the street and from the minaret's that she should be beheaded for insulting Islam and the embarrassment of local Moslems was like a fog. Had Bush been on his toes there should have been a call for an international Jihad against all those who sinned against Allah by wishing punishment upon someone who was only trying to teach.

Now you may think this harsh but harsh maybe the real answer. The world of Islam is an insular world. With a total population of over 90 million, this area has a gross domestic product (GDP) that is smaller then Spain's. And even worse it is isolated. Fewer books were translated into the Arabic languages then were translated into Greek. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is on record as saying that Iran does not need democracy, however I doubt that continuation of government by the Mullahs is what the people want.

The real problem is that we must use our Moslem community to counter the lies and falsehoods of Al Qaeda and we must start now however we wish to do it.
