George W. Bush's tenure nears its end. To whom will he relinquish the White House? The answer is yet uncertain.
With his two terms as President of the United States, George Bush has left a legacy no one else could efface out in the course of human history. It was when he waged war against terrorism. His war on terror makes him one of the most notorious and unscrupulous leaders.
He justified it claiming that the late Saddam Hussein, an evil despot, as others tag him, had weapons of mass destruction in great quantities and he had to wage this war to protect his country and his people. With this war, Bush sacrificed the lives of men and women, young and adult, Christians and non- Christians…
Toward the end of 2003, it became clear that there were no weapons of mass destruction to be found in Iraq and Bush argued that it is the United States humanitarian duty to liberate the Iraqi people from slavery. After annihilating Iraq, he could afford to say this. He sounded heroic but he did not have any moral or legal authority to invade Iraq and forcibly oust a leader he did not like in the person of Saddam Hussein. Neither did he have the authority to devastate and consecrate lives for ends he only knows up to now.
It was not for humanitarian reasons that he pointed out first. It was weapons of mass destruction. He exaggerated available intelligence and used his people to further his interest.
George W. Bush is not the worst leader America has ever produced. He is definitely not. However, his war against terrorism has projected a terror in him.
