Failure of the American Congress

The American congress has failed our nation.

America is in a very uncomfortable position during this day and age. One political side is mentioning “depression” every chance they get and the other is saying that the first is blowing the situation way out of proportion. However, no matter what political party one belongs to, we all must agree that the congress of the United States has failed its people. How can they do that? Well, we seem to forget what the congress was originally meant to do. It was originally created to work for the people to create a better standard of living and improve the nation under the will of the American citizens.

However, we as American citizens, and especially the congressmen and women, have made a transition from thinking of them as social servants and the voice of the people whom they work for to thinking of them as highly aristocratic super-citizens. They are considered the elite of our country; they are the ones who have achieved the American dream we all pursue. However, the men and women of congress have become lazy in their position of dominance and have forgotten whom they work for. So in their negligence our country has slipped into an unpleasant position economically, socially, and politically.

We citizens must think of ourselves as the owners of a business. We hire the congress to be the managers and this is what we find. We are in massive debt, key points of our structural stability are failing and the management is just sitting back and basking in their own position of importance. What would you do if this was your business? Of course you would fire them! So what is different in our current situation? Nothing at all is different. So as the American people we need to once again grasp the concept of our government working for us and make a bipartisan movement to clear house in our management department. We need fresh ideas in Washington. We need to get rid of the congress that failed the American people. We, as citizens need to rise up and take up our duty and do what is right for our nation.
