I have been listening to the news, as I am certain, many of you have been listening. It seems, as though, the wonderful watchers of this great country and its' financial markets have fallen asleep at the wheel. What's new about that? Did they not go on vacation when we have been in a high fuel cost crises?
I wonder how many understand how governing works? The president can sign or veto a bill that comes to his desk. If he vetoes a bill, it can be overridden with enough voting in the Congress to do just that. Who is responsible for making the laws? Do you really know? What about making the laws of the state you may live? Do you really know? A president can promise till he is blue in the face and not accomplish anything if the opposing party does not want that particular president to get credit for any successes. However, the very same president can get blamed totally when things are not going very well.
I hear that the American people are angry. Did you not elect or vote for the members of Congress? I know I voted and I take full responsibility for my vote. Do you?
I want to hold Congress's feet to the fire and get what they were sent to Washington, DC to do. Work for what is in the best interest of the American people. It seems, as though, the American people are being taken for granted and it is assumed that the party in control of both houses of Congress have it all wrapped up and believe they will have total control of all the houses of government. All they have to do to get away with their scheme is to blame the current president for all the ills of this great country.
Wake up America. It has been brought to my attention that the same party in control of Congress today is the same ones responsible for this crises. They did not go along with the bill submitted to have an oversite to prevent what is happening in the financials today. We need independent, not biased politicians doing the oversite. Where can we find independent, non-partisan persons to do oversite? People that truly care about this great country and are not taking bribes or payoffs or have greed as their first, middle and last name.
This crises is not just my concern but affects every American today. Many of us have been placed in a financial bind and not necessarily our own fault. Many Americans were led to believe that they could afford those mortgages that are failing today. It seems that the mortgage companies were becoming more like the plastic money that has ruined many lives. If you do not understand what the plastic money is, it is called a credit card. The credit card companies use any enticement they can to get people to buy into their deals. The mortgage companies must have been taking lessons from the credit card companies to get where they are today.
I could be one of those Fannie Mae or Freddy Mac persons. The opportunity was given to me but I did not realize it at the time. It was something that the person said to me when I was trying to refinance my mortgage. There was a comment made in the news a couple of days ago that made my ears perk up and I began to think back to when the gentleman was explaining what he could do to get past the fact that my income was a fixed income and my credit was not all the best. We can bury that situation and because of your lack of income, the government program to help low income families get mortgages will work for you. I did not continue with the mortgage application because it made me feel uneasy. Maybe I should have gone along with it and I would not be in the financial bind with the expensive mortgage I have today which is more than I get on my monthly fixed income.
The message I continue to get is to sell the home, rent from someone else for a while and you will be out from under the financial stress. Hello! I am not the only one in this situation and if the housing market were as great as it were three years ago, that might be the answer.
If you have a mortgage that is extremely expensive and more than you have coming in each month, would you consider yourself in need of financial help?Where will you go for assistance?Do you have credit card debt that is out of control?Have the financial markets let us down?Did you buy into the easily acquired mortgages and now have to face possible foreclosure?Who is really to blame?Do you blame the entrepreneur?Who is really responsibility for your debt?
If you worked hard for what you have, do you want someone else telling you how to handle your finances?Do you want to be told what to do with your wealth if you have wealth?Do you want the government telling you how to spend your income?Do you want to have to pay for your neighbor's healthcare?Are you willing to support someone that will take your money and give it to the less fortunate?Do you want to be the one who decides what you do with the money you earned?
If you are so willing to let someone else handle your finances, I would be happy to take all I can get. I know a lot of people that need help, including myself.
Many of us need financial help but I do not want the government to take from others and give to me. We have a lot of caring people in this country and I would rather a person with wealth give to me of their own free will and not because the government made that wealthy person do so. What good does it do to work hard for what you have and then the government take it away only to give to someone they think needs it more than you?
Let us keep a close eye on the deal making that is going on concerning the financial status today and not let our leaders fall asleep at the wheel again.
