I Believe in Obama

CNN Special feedback.

I took a class this past semester of my second year of college called Abortion, Philosophy, and Law and for 15 weeks we covered every possible aspect surrounding the controversial issue of abortion. I received a B- in the class (the professor was a little tough) but it was by far my favorite class of the semester. I had a certain stance on the issue of abortion before taking the class and my views did not really change after taking the class, but it did help to strengthen the support for my views.

I watched a questionnaire tonight on CNN addressed to McCain and Obama separately and one of the questions addressed was the issue of Abortion. I thought Obama gave the best answer any candidate could as this point in the running for the Presidential election. He addressed his own views and gave reasons for why he felt that way and then addressed views contrary to his own which many people are expected to have. He showed respect for everyone and never contradicted himself in his answer. He did leave a few holes open for debate, but none that could not be looked past for the time being. This is what the United States needs. Obama is young, with a great head on his shoulders. I know I am only giving one example and I am in no way trying to sway others' beliefs, all I am saying is that the United States needs something to believe in again.

For the last 8 years, there has been as much poking fun at President Bush as humanly possible and I can't say that I haven't supported comedians who frequently make fun of him; but I feel that Obama can be the fresh new face that can get this country back on a good track. He is young, and not quite set in his ways just yet. I feel he can be open to change which seems to be an element this country has come to fear instead of embrace. The past embraced change and flourished; how do you think we've come to where we are today? Again, I'm not trying to change anyone's mind all I want to say is how content I am to see a potential for change in a good direction.
