Is not support the MEK hypocritical stupidity?

The answer is yes.

The answer to this question requires an analysis of America's history during the Cold-war.

During the cold-war, America supported the lesser- of two evils among the dictators. Ameirca even gave support to dictators who were fighting Communist, dictators such as Shah Reza Mohammad Pahlavi [known commonly as shah or the shah] of Iran, to Anastasio Somoza of Nicaragua and to General Augusto Pinochet of Chile. All the name of dictators.

In terms of democracy and human rights, the MEK gets higher marks than all of those dictators combined. Here's an organization that represents America's goals in Iran and the goals many Americans want Iran to be, which is a non-Islamist secular western-style democracy.

Supporting the MEK is becoming more of an urgent strategic necessity. The MEK did expose Iran's nuclear weapons program.

America seeks to democratize Iran. Especially with President Bush's policy of spreading democracy in the Middle East, the MEK is a strategic democratic ally coming from a silver platter, which was there even before George W. Bush became president. While the MEK is clearly a strategic ally and everything Ameirca wants an ally to be like, instead, America put the MEK on the US State Department list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations [FTO] in a failed attempt to moderate the Iranian regime, by embraicng fake moderates like Hishemi Rafsanjani, who in 2001, called for a nuclear strike against Israel and Mohammed Khatami, who was a notorious oppressor of the Khomeini regime, supports Hezbollah and praised the warden of Evan prison, who was a notorious torturer and who was killed by the MEK.

MEK was put on the terror list for Khatami, one of the notorious oppressors for Khomeini's fascist regime. How could we support the lesser of two evils among dictators, who fought Communist tyranny, during the Cold War, but not support the MEK, which poses a real threat to an apocalyptic regime, which will actually use nuclear weapons against America, Israel and to help impose Islamism. Islamists are apocalyptic. They'll use any means to accomplish their global goals, even if they destroy their own countries regardless if they are the regimes in those countries or not. A nuclear-armed Iran would also give nuclear weapons to Islamist terrorists, who would also use nuclear weapons on America, Israel and their enemies.

Unlike Iran, the Soviets had at least enough sanity to not use nuclear weapons. Our post-Cold war mentality is becoming stupider by the minute, especially with Iran. What's the result? The MEK is listed on the US State Department's FTOs.

All of America's attacks on the MEK are serving the Iranian terrorist regime and alienating the goal of democratizing Iran.

In the beginning of the Iraq war, America engaged in a bombing campaign on the MEK to keep Iran from meddling in Iraq. Guess what? Iran is the main problem for Americans in Iraq. Even American soldiers in Iraq are starting to wake up and see that the MEK are strategic allies. After the cease fire between America and the MEK in Iraq, American soldiers see the MEK following all of America's orders and Iran being the main problem, while the MEK is not lifting a finger to fight America. If the MEK hated America, they would be fighting alongside the insurgents against America. That's not happening. Even while US soldiers are seeing the obvious about the MEK being a strategic ally, the US State Department is still behind the wall of idiocy, relying on the propaganda by the Iranian terrorist regime, even while the US State Department correctly lists Iran as a state sponsor of terrorism. The MEK is a useful ally for regime change in Iran. It has popular support among the Iranian people and has infiltrated the Iranian government, bringing important intelligence including information on the Iranian nuclear program.

Right now, Camp Ashraf is the main base for the MEK in Iraq. US soldiers consider them "protected people." Thier adventures in Iraq taught this important lesson that Iran's useful idiots in Washington have trouble seeing: the MEK is useful allies in bring regime change and democracy to Iran.

America supported General Pinochet when he launched his coup against Salvador Allende, who was destroying democracy and slowly installing a pro-Soviet Communist dictatorship in Chile. Guess what, though the new Pinochet military reigime planned to eventually give Chile democracy, he stayed in power as a brutal dictator, one who's human rights violations weren't even supported by America. Why bring him in? To stop the spread of Communism. No doubt, that coup, as ugly as it was, stopped a worse situaiton for Chile. Unlike Pinochet, the MEK has no plans to set up a brutal temporary authoritarian government for Iran.
