So, John McCain wants to prove that his appointment of Sarah Palin was not “shoddy” and “rushed”, according to a Yahoo! report. In other words, he is trying to prove (perhaps “convince” would be a better word here) that he took his timewith this decision. However, there's so much contradictory evidence.
- According to a schedule released by the Republican Party, McCain “initially” met Palin in February (i.e. just over 6 months ago), but he only unveiled Palin last Friday (i.e. August 29). The obvious question, then, is: why didn't McCain do this sooner? If he had his mind made up 4 months ago, we should have heard about this 3 months ago, not last week! Also, it's unclear who else was on McCain's short list to be #2 on the Republican ticket.
- According to Steve Schmidt, a senior McCain advisor, the McCain camp allegedly sent a “jump team” to Palin's home state of Alaska, another sign of impulsiveness.
The most important question that John McCain should be asked is: why did he reveal his VP pick so late? Does he have a hidden agenda?
