This years election has become quite a popularity contest. It seems as though we are now voting for who has become the most popelar between Barack and Palin. Now, I know that as a woman there are women who would agree that while it is great to have a woman on a 2008 ticket is not only historical but it gives us opportunities that were once denied. But lets be honest for a moment, this does not guarantee that she is the best suited to do this job as vice president. On the other hand, Barack has been in the spotlight for quite sometime now and was also referred to being one of the most popular celebrities in the world. His comparison was to the likes of Britney Spears, and Paris Hilton. As if this could not have been more insulting and cruel to undermine this man's intelligence and experience in the Senate.
Sarah Palin made a great speech that was read from a prompter very skillfully done. But the question still becomes, "Can she do this job if McCain becomes ill or is unable to be commander in chief?" The media has been in a frenzy about this womans' background and has had several attacks on her values and her daughter for her teen pregnancy. She has faced tremendous scrutiny and will face alot more before this long ride of a campaign is over. Well as the ratings for the media outlets surge, it seems as though Palins popularity is soaring as well. The polls show a jump from the Republican Convention week and the same speech has become redundant in visiting "small towns". Mrs. Palin has become critical of Barack Obama's plan for the country and the influence he has had in this campaign thus far. Well lets just see what happens in the debates that are to come. Will these debates reflect more of the issues or who has the most popularity with the American people?
