The entire universe knows that Paris Hilton has been recently released from jail and many people( old and young)were committed to watching her interview with Larry King live on CNN as if it was a world event.
How is it that we - in this current day and age of war, terrorism, racism, invasions, poverty, starvation, disease infested countries, soldiers at war, rape, kidnapping, suicide, homicide and death - care about a young woman who lives recklessly, sets the worst example for our youth, and does nothing to contribute to humanity but flash herself around in clubs and galas?
How is it that a 20-something rich spoiled brat who drives drunk and ends up in jail gets an ASAP interview with Larry king on a worldwide news station the day of here release to display to the universe what a waste of space it is she occupies?
We have obviously drowned in so much pain, sorrow and confusion that our priorities have malformed to become dedicated to the fortunate famous people of Hollywood who live outrageous lifestyles.
CNN as well as 10,000 other news stations, newspapers and media sources have found that people like Paris Hilton represent essential news elements that need to be delivered to the public who live in the real world, deal with real life problems, and have been through devastating life events.
I had to sit back in paralyzing shock as I saw the world react to her breakdown in jail and then to her release. Here I would like to mention that I am a real woman who comes from Saudi Arabia and have lived tragedies that could make excellent Hollywood horror films. Some of my articles have been about human rights, or should I say lack thereof in Saudi Arabia, and others have been about the horrors of anesthesia medical residency training in Halifax, Canada.
After being sexually assaulted and after being subjected to various forms of racism and abuse in my training I was let go with not a thank you or a sorry and with zero support. The media couldn't care less about my story or struggle as I try to bring to surface the unjust and abuse that exists in the medical world. Human rights and women's right are obviously not as important as Ms. Paris Hilton's jail release.
After all, who cares about the real people who struggle day in and day out to make an honest living for themselves and who try to make the world a better inhabitable place?!
