Isaiah 17:1
“An Oracle concerning Damascus: "See, Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins."”
Damascus is famous for being the world's oldest city. It is unfulfilled because it still exists as a city. And only nukes are the only weapons in our generation that could reduce it into a ruinous heap unrecognizable to be called a city once again.
Matthew 24:29
“The sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky.”
This verse is the same as Joel 3:14-15 and Mark 13:24. The effect of nuclear war is so enormous that it could create smoke of clouds because of massive fires so thick and big that it will hide the sun and moon. It will lower temperature and trigger a winter. Stars falling from the sky? If you are living at the time of Jesus and you have received visions like the pictures featured in this link. What would you describe?
Mark 13:14, 19-20
“When you see "the abomination that causes desolation" standing where it does not belong-let the reader understand-then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now-and never to be equaled again. If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.”
These verses of the Oliveth Prophecy are the same with Matthew 24 and Luke 21. Here, Jesus mentioned about the Abomination of Desolation and the following events that will take place that unless, God will shorten those days, no one would survive. Only a nuclear destruction of such magnitude cannot be equaled since the creation of things until now and never to be equaled again.
Revelation 6:15
“Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.”
If there is a nuclear war, our only defense against the radioactive fallout is to hide in bunkers. Have you heard about the nuclear shelters built on Cheyenne Mountains? What is its primary purpose? Do you believe that nuclear winter is also prophesied in the Bible?

Revelation 8:11
“The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.”
What will cause water to bring death to many people? In case of nuclear fallout, it will contaminate our vital water supply that will cause radioactive sickness and even death. As you notice, it will come from a star, not a star that will collide with earth.

Revelation 9:15-16
“And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number.”
A third of mankind or roughly 2 billion (1/3 of the Earth's population are prophesied to die-casualties that are attainable for a nuclear war. Such unequaled military activity could use 200 million soldiers all over the world.
Revelation 16:2
“The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly and painful sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped his image.
Sores are the usual primary symptoms of low dose radiation sickness (100 to 300 Rad) starting from the mouth that will spread all over the body. People who will be contaminated will suffer from hematologic radiation syndrome after three weeks. Their bone marrow will stop producing number of red blood cells. They are vulnerable to infection and all wounds will stop to heal. Our normal skin will cause hemorrhagic reaction because of a very small number of platelets, the cell fragments that help blood to clot, thus skin flaking, rotting and pus will appear.
A Bible Prophecy
Nuclear war is prophesied a long time ago in the Bible. But is the Bible accurate and reliable? According to Mike Taylor in his article “Why is the Bible Reliable?” (miketaylor, 2002), there are five reasons why we should trust the Bible.
- Large number of manuscripts
- The findings of archeology
- Internal consistency
- Fulfilled prophecies
- Life-changing power
Based on the volume of evidences, the Bible stand-out from the rest because copies of it became available more than any historical documents combined. Numerous archaeologists affirmed that their startling discoveries are consistent with the Bible. With 66 separate books, written by different authors more than a span of a thousand years in different styles-yet the book carries a single message of God's grace, creation and salvation. Wilbur Smith an American theologian mentioned that only in the Bible can we find real specific prophecy of a great historic event to come in the distant future, or a prophecy of a Savior to arrive in the human race constantly fulfilling and others already fulfilled. It is the strongest medium of influence that can change our life for good.
The verses presented here are only few concerning the prophecy of a nuclear war. The Book of Revelation describes the horrors of it all, as we fully understand what nuclear war could bring to humanity. It's only a matter of time before we could experience this and at last we could finally know that there is a God that will cut this short to save us all.
