Ron Paul: Revolutionary or Bigot?

I'm still trying to figure out Ron Paul... I think we all are. Is a bigot? Is he a revolutionary? Is he a gun-nut? Is he America's answer? The politician that is Ron Paul seems to be as broad and vast as the support he has gained.

I can not think of another presidential candidate, at least in my lifetime that has appealed to so many different types of people. Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, and many people in between all seem to be hopping on to the “Revolution.” The intense dedication many his supporters show is nothing short of admirable. I've never seen a better street-team, ever. I wish some of these Ron Paul people would help me with my books and comedy career….

Recently, Ron Paul has caused a bit of a stir due to speculations that he is, in fact, a racist. Here are apparent quotes from his “Freedom Watch” newsletter:

"If you have ever been robbed by a black teenage male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be."

"Opinion polls consistently show that only about 5 percent of blacks have sensible political opinions, i.e., support the free market, individual liberty and the end of welfare and affirmative action."

"Politically sensible blacks are outnumbered as decent people... I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city (Washington, D.C.) are semi-criminal or entirely criminal."

"We don't think a child of 13 should be held responsible as a man of 23. That's true for most people, but black males age 13 who have been raised on the streets and who have joined criminal gangs are as big, strong, tough, scary and culpable as any adult and should be treated as such."

Recently, the Paul campaign has accepted money from Stormfront, a well-known hate site. He is also heavily endorsed by many white-supremacist groups.

However, let's not forget the following:

  • Ron Paul is very anti-war and has been from the beginning.
  • Ron Paul is the only candidate addressing the issues concerning the Federal Reserve

What concerns me the most is that neither Ron Paul nor has his campaign issued any kind of statement regarding these racist accusations that have been circulating. At least, not to my knowledge. One would imagine that the circulating of this information be it true or false would be an issue of concern for Ron Paul, and something he would want to address right away. However, I have yet to find anything of the sort. This article is not an attempt to bash Ron Paul, but to merely put some questions out there that should be answered… The results, as of right now, are still inconclusive.

Check the PBS interview. He's very clear that he doesn't want the support of the white supremacists.

Dr. Paul is a Constitutionalist. Anyone that researches the man can tell that he does not support bigotry in any form. He also thinks people should do their own research, not relay garbage that other people spout.

All the isues have been addressed and debunked in other articles, which is what the author should have realized instead of parroting false accusations and misrepresentations.

Just because someone endorses RP is in no way an indication of reciprocation.
