Nothing sparks a debate more than a candidate in the hot seat. And never has justification of blatant lies and ignorance been so difficult to sugar coat. Throughout this entire last week, political pundits and strategists on various news networks have dissected this strange obsession with an Alaskan governor that shows she is easily molded and coached, instead of being educated on the important matters of the day.
I can't even begin to understand how Bey Buchanan can bring her to appear on CNN and justify the clearly coached, cookie cutter answers that Sarah Palin robotically recited to Charlie Gibson during the three part interview aired on ABC World News. I have a feeling that if you served Bey Buchanan a plate of maggots she'd adamantly insist that they "truly gourmet and nutritious" and that "people need to stop being so judgmental and give it a try". This woman cannot be for real. Even those without any political party affiliation have to admit that those Palin interviews were probably some of the funniest sound bites in recent history.
Never have I seen so many "deer in the headlight" moments. And never have I seen so many McCain supporters rush to her defense.
"Do YOU know what the Bush doctrine is?" or "I don't know anyone that knows what the Bush doctrine is!" Perhaps, but are YOU or the people you KNOW in the running for the White House?
There was something said on CNN yesterday that blew my mind, and forgive me for not remembering whose mouth it spewed from, but I believe it was something to the extent of (and I am paraphrasing) "Why does she need to get all caught up in the facts and figures?"
Why? WHY? Perhaps, it has something to do with the fate of this country hanging in the balance at the moment.
Here are a few questions of my own:
Why are the American people so easily distracted by utter lies and gossip?
Is Bey Buchanan for real?
Does the GOP know what "hate mongering" is?
Why can't anyone praise Barack Obama for the poise, dignity, and honesty of the Democratic campaign, instead of demanding he lash out and stoop to the Republican's level?
Actually, I know the answer to the last one. Sadly, people don't want intelligent leaders in office, but rather ignorant hillbillies that clean up nice on TV.
