I blame the massive media outlets and their sponsors for the onslaught of shootings we are surrounded with. It is mind boggling to watch them do what they do, as if everything is OK with them, and its the rest of the world's problems.
Highly paid analysts, journalists, news anchors, commentators and those you don't see, program directors and producers, are all responsible for the nightmare we are now in. And it is going to take a much more powerful force then them to stop it. Those that are doing the crimes, suffer from a distorted perception of love and acceptance, for whatever reason. They have watched the coverage of past shootings, and that is the prize.
The biggest sponsors get the biggest reward, by having their spot played in between the breaks of the coverage. This is the real tragedy. The multi media gorilla's will pound this coverage for all its worth, even to the point of searching out and going to the location of the parents of the shooter.
They justify this as bringing the news, or freedom of the press.
Running the story at the top of the hour is enough. Period. The shootings will stop. Those that are distraught today, are already planning the next shooting based upon yesterday and today's coverage. They can't be oblivious to this, after all, I'm a regular guy with a regular job, I do not have the education these people have, so how could I come up with this idea?
Someone has to stand up against these monsters of destruction. Who? How? You can do your part by writing to the program directors and sponsors of these programs.
