The Apocryphal Leader: The Set Up

When is Senator McCain going to face campaign responsibilities and stop using the nation's crisis as a podium for popularity?

It is hard enough trying to equate ones experience as a POW with their ability to lead a country in crisis; nonetheless, America excused all rational for the sake of patriotism to revere Senator McCain as executive worthy. Now America is making it a habit of abetting McCain's random acts of, so called, valor to disillusion them from his lack of true leadership skills.

The public was already hoaxed by McCain's sudden rush to the Gulf coast, thus staging the delay of the Republican Presidential Convention. Funny no one challenged Sen. McCain's eagerness to compare his selfless will to the cause with the Democrat's successful week of political stardom. Why would on bring up doing a humble act if they intend that act to be humble?

A good, "change", bearing leader would let the acting president do his job with full autonomy and would only make them-selves accessible if needed. John McCain should have concerned himself with the violence going on outside of the convention between police and protestors. The time spent on generating a photo op for his Oath of Horatio should have been invested in researching his Vice President choice.

Now Sen. McCain threatens to delay another expensive and critical campaigning event so that he can execute some Homeric feat to save the nation from crisis. Yesterday McCain proclaimed he will suspend the Presidential debate go to Washington and face the Gurus of Capitol Hill in the public's best interest.

How and why would he do that? Senator McCain has already admitted his lack of economic knowledge. So other than interrupting a room full of professionals, what can he do?

Yet it is ok for Obama to pretend he is the Messiah, go to Europe, speak in front of greek column, get all kinds of acculades from the media, tell people things that aren't true and is supported each day like he already won. WOW..How pathetic people really are.

True Obama has been campaigning: Obama is campaigning for President of the United States. McCain is playing the intelligence of the American public with pseudo-heroic acts and mock leadership stunts. He did nothing in the gulf and was indirectly ask to leave Washington when he interrupted the Investment Bill ("Bail Out", check it out he never told America the real name and intent of this bill- he never read it!!).
If McCain is an effective leader, then why is he neglecting his cohort Palin? He can't maintain his own mission, can't coach his protege and cannot remember what he says from one day to another.
You are right- WOW.

@Jack, sounds like you've been brainwashed by the McCain adverts and talking points. Now he can be assured that all the money he spent advertising was not in vain. "Messiah"...?

McCain's message is becoming more and more incoherent each day. I've always been disappointed by the media for giving him a free pass, but this week, I think they're finally waking up and starting to call his bluff.

One thing I would like to hear is an honest explanation from the McCain camp as to how being a POW prepares someone for POTUS. Really. On the democratic front, Gen. Wes Clark did try (in a respectful way, I may add) to ponder this question out loud. What followed was theatrics from the McCain camp that led to Obama camp shutting him down. So, that question is still out there, unanswered. If I were still an undecided voter, the past 3 weeks of McCain's display of leadership (lack of) would have quickly pushed me to camp Obama.
