If our elected officials had the right sense of things around them, then they would see that most Americans feel that the very ones who ran the companies and corporations into the ground and left with all of the millions upon millions of dollars are responsible. Congress could place a "Freeze" on the money and real assets of profiteers who escaped with all of the millions of dollars and have auctions on the holdings of those that profited on the rest of us.
Then they could enact very strict oversight and corporate governance regulations that hold all "golden parachutes" totally out of the picture by eliminating them totally. The regular American that does a lousy job would never be allowed that kind of uplift.
After all of those responsible were held accountable then those who did the worst for the companies by breaking laws should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This would make the remaining corporations and companies more accountable to the public who really own them by supporting their products and services with patronage or with buying habits.
This would be how I would go after Wall Street plunderers and profiteers by simply holding them accountable for their actions.
