I have often heard people say the U.S. is "the greatest military power on earth".
That to me is the most vain statement ever, so we have more weapons than other people, big deal. Fire power is not what makes a nation great, and all this talk of "my pop is bigger than your pop" will eventually bring unwanted problems to our doorstep, that's trouble we don't need.
Does anybody recall 9/11/2001? Remember those that died that day? We don't want de ja vu of that. With that said, war to me is the most idiotic thing, people kill people...and for what? Their own human vanity and ego? It's ridiculous.
I am not knocking our men and women in uniform, if war has any place in existence, I believe it should be used strictly in defense after all other options are exhausted. Now, I am not one of those optimists that asks "can't we all just get along" because the fact is, everybody will always have differences. Sometimes, those differences may cause debates and stuff but if they can be resolved without war that's better for everybody.
