I have been meaning to write about the Madeline McCann scenario for a while, of course now the story has taken such a turn it is imperative that I convey my two pennies worth.
Had I written this post a month ago, the gist of the piece would be on how such a dreadful situation has fuelled my paranoia as a parent of young children. Parents everywhere echoed my sentiments.
Today I had a conversation with 2 mothers of young girls and feelings were mixed. Can people be so inherently vulgar; to allow this whole situation to become such a worldwide issue if in fact they themselves are responsible?
There is also a yearning that perhaps this awful situation can be laid to rest for once and for all. I for one selfishly admit, that if Kate is found to be guilty, as a parent there is a sense of relief in knowing that of all places, my children are safe in their beds, whichever part of the world that bed may be.
