Today's Cars

Today's advanced-technology cars are 90% cleaner than most conventional vehicles, and they emit 30% less global warming pollution.

Hybrid cars are designed to operate in the same range of conditions and temperatures as conventional vehicles. Hydrogen or methane fuel cell powered cars are probably the cars of the future. Hydro-cars are powered by an electricity-producing fuel cell. Electric cars are very efficient compared to the cars most people drive. New developments in technology, especially battery technology, mean that all-electric cars are likely to be on the market soon. Also, most vintage cars are only taken out for car shows and the like. Experts forecast that by 2020 hydrogen cars are going to be the most commercialized [of these new, alternative vehicles]. The cold hard facts show that smaller, lighter cars are generally less safe than larger heavier cars. Compact cars are being equipped with more standard safety options than ever before, and reviewers are paying attention.

Of course electric cars are a good idea - their motors are nearly 100% efficient! Electric cars are the future - not these silly hydrogen things! "Aluminum cars are too new to have reliable figures. 2007 Hybrid cars are gaining popularity because they are friendly to Earth. Modern diesel-powered cars are quiet, clean and fast. Hydrogen powered cars are not the answer! These electric cars are capable of highway speeds and driving distances in excess of 100 miles. With these configurations, hybrid cars are able to have a fuel mileage of 60-70 mpg as compared to 20-40 in conventional cars. Hybrid gas-electric vehicles, like the Toyota Prius, are the most visible examples of how cars are becoming more electrical and less mechanical. Most cars are available with front side and/or curtain side airbags. But, hydrogen cars are not isolated to those that burn the fuel in internal combustion engines. Hydrogen-powered cars are steadily becoming more of a reality.

Nevertheless, solar cars are extremely attractive because they use the cleanest source of energy available the sun. In each case, care is taken to ensure that the cars are built to normal production standards. Smart cars are combining with smart roads. Electric cars are quieter, cleaner and cheaper to run than gas-powered cars. Newer cars are generally cleaner cars, especially those with the most advanced pollution control equipment. Smaller cars are generally more fuel efficient. "If you say light cars are more dangerous, in an average sense they are, and some are much more dangerous," Ross says. Fuel and rego costs are more expensive than ever, but cars are cheaper than ever too. Yet multiple air bags, stability control and other modern safety features have convinced people that small cars aren't dangerous. "Hybrid cars are remarkable technical achievements," he says. Electric cars are much more reliable and require less maintenance than gas-powered cars.
