Up Up and Away

A little written paragraph of gas prices in Iraq.

This is from one year ago, when in Iraq gas prices went from a nice 5 cents to 27 cents.

Now, if you would think of how much it cost us a year ago. A year ago here in the U.S.A they were pushing $3.00 dollars!

Also on that story of the 5 cents to 27 cents it says that Iraqis were infuriated! Let's raise their gas prices to over $3.00 dollars and lower ours to 27 cents... who's got the bigger headache, come on people, mad your gas prices went up 22 cents; though I would understand it better if the gas prices were at least $2.00 dollars. But, no, they haven't reached a buck!

We've been in Iraq for how long now? Some people out there think we are there for the oil; they are partly right. The reason we went into war with Iraq is because the government did not want to work with us. We all know that we are struggling from gas prices anyhow, and it seems to be going down. But, who knows if it's going to go down or up... only the future can tell whats going to happen in Iraq we might finally find Osama, or he might die of old age. I think we will find out... but, there is still a question that I have.

How long until this war is over? a year? a month? a day? today? Hope the future tells soon because the gas prices are killing me, and i cant stand it!

I don't think gas prices will ever go down to where we think they should be. I fully agree with you on everything you said, but there's more to it than that. The amount of crude oil being discovered compared to the amount being used (espesially by us Americans) has shifted form more to less to less to more. Meaning, we are using more crude oil than they are finding!!! WAY MORE!!! More than tripple the amount. While you are right about the price of gas not even being $1.00 over there and $3.00 over here, there's four reasons for that, 1) We're way over here and think of how much fuel it takes to get all that over here. More than three times the amount. For every gallon that is shiped over here, it takes three gallons to make the trip, and there's no way to get around that. 2) The U.S. government is collecting all those taxes on the gas we buy and using some of that to fund the war, and as long as we are at war, gas prices will be throught the roof! 3) The U.S. government is also trying to make it so we dont't want to use as much gas to conserve it as much as possible and to make us look into alternative means of fuel. I'm just speculating here, but I'm shure they have some monitary interest in this alternative option. 4) Now that the oil companies know that we will pay this redicoulous price for gas, they will make shure that we always do. They report something like $3 or $4 TRILLION dollars per SECOND in proffets!!!!!!!!!!! That's right, you didn't misread that, read it again if you like but there's no escaping that fact. $3 or $4 TRILLION dollars per SECOND in proffetts!!!!!!!!!!! In proffets!!! There's no better paying job ANYWHERE, EVER!!! And this is why I don't ever see the price of gas ever doing anything but going up until we run out. And as for the Iraqis paying so much less per gallon than us? Rember that they get paied like a fraction of a penny on the dollar over there as opposed to us so 27 cents per gallon to them is like $10 dollars per gallon to us.
