Why does the United States persist on making foreign affairs an American problem?

America's involvement in Middle Eastern affairs is necessary to protect the future and stability of the world. The United States, currently engaged with Iraq in Urban Warfare, is fighting to ensure that terrorism and possible chemical warfare is not threatening the U.S. and the free world.

Many people do not support our war with Iraq for the blunt reasoning of the media telling our citizens negative headlines. Nobody supports American soldiers dieing for a foreign cause, but the cause is American. Iraq is a dangerous country, where militant groups hate the U.S. along with its citizens. With an unstable leader and weapons of mass destruction, Iraq has benefited by a new government and a new police force directed towards terrorism. Bringing this country into the twenty-first century guarantees a better chance of a safer planet.

Some countries feel the same as the United States but do not exercise their powers to keep peace in unstable countries. These countries express their opinions of dissatisfaction and frustration towards these unstable countries but look for the motive and discipline to stand up for their own safety. This lack of motive comes from the sneering eyes and lips of countries who do not believe in interfering in foreign matters. This is where the United States and other countries divide and look at the same problem but react differently.

Many people believe that tax payers' dollars are going to a cause not worthy of an American dollar, where American men die everyday for a cause that has no immediate impact on our country. Or does it? With an unstable government and nearly unlimited funding any country could threaten the safety of the world. Then it becomes not only a U.S. problem but the world's problem. How many American soldiers have to die? The answer is enough to restore order where order is due; to protect our nation and its people. Some people won't see it as an immediate impact, but it secures our future.

It is necessary to exert yourself when you are uncomfortable with a shady and insecure future. Protecting the world from hostel foreign affairs is an American responsibility and should remain one. America was built on taking chances, so taking a chance to secure our future is a price we have to pay.
