Will Rebate Checks Make an Impact?

The Bush administration is hoping rebate checks will improve the government.

While the economy continues to spiral downward tax rebate checks start to make an impact. The unemployment rate has been reported at 5.5% that's almost 9 million people in the country with out a job. The Bush Administration hopes that the stimulus payments will help boost the economy out of its downward spin. The stimulus payments will be sent out to close to 130 million Americans that began at the beginning of May and continues through the middle of July. Retailers have reported to already see an impact even as much as a 1% increase in sales than the previous month. Which in consideration is only a temporary fix.

Many people spoke out about using their tax rebate checks to pay old bills instead of going on a shopping spree. I feel as soon as the population runs out of its rebate money we may be where we left off before we received it. Especially considering gas prices continuously on the rise due to the price in oil also means food costs skyrocketing due to transportation. Lets all just hope that how ever we spend the tax rebates whether it be on old bills, groceries, gasoline, or clothes for our children that somehow we can pull it together and stop our country from falling to its knees.
