There are two obvious choices about what to do in Iraq; one is definitely wrong. Since a few years ago when President George W. Bush deployed U.S. troops into Iraq in search for nuclear weapons, the army operations have gone downhill. Not only did they not find nuclear weapons, but the soldiers were attacked by religious insurgents. With American lives lost almost each day, the most reasonable thing to do is to pull out. President Bush should withdraw troops from Iraq because the war is a waste of manpower, lives, supplies, and money.
The war in Iraq is a waste of lives, innocent and military. Ever since the bloodshed first started, killing of three sides of the conflict had started. The war in Iraq is a religious war. Wars between the Muslim Sunnis and Shiites, but since the intervention of the U.S. troops, about 74575 Iraqi civilians have been killed by U.S. military only (unknown author). A report stated that the U.S. military death count have surpassed 3,500, which is 3,500 too much. (Kim Gamel). Iraq's war between the Sunnis and the Shiites are long lasting, back to the day when their savior, Mohammad Ali first died without a successor. The fighting whether the leader should be of blood decent of Mohammad or the fit leader sparked the fighting for many years until now. With so much killing already occurring in Iraq, sending U.S. troops is utterly inhumane. Why start more bloodshed? Why keep the U.S. troops in Iraq killing and being killed? Extraction of U.S. troops should be considered.
In the years that have possessed the U.S. in Iraq, thousands of vehicles were sent to aid the U.S. troops. 24,000 humvees were deployed in Iraq. 3,282 heavy trucks sent. 366 M1 Bradley Tanks inserted (Michael Duffy). These are just a few examples of the expensive machinery sent to Iraq. With so many vehicles, is it not a wonder how gas prices are so high? Each humvee has a mileage of about ten for city and fourteen for highway (Des Toups). The gas guzzling tanks cannot even be compared. The Iraq war is taking more of a toll on American citizens than just the lives taken from the families, but the gas prices soaring higher than ever before have infuriated many citizens. Taking a toll on American civilians and Iraqi civilians as well, the whole situation would be more peaceful if the fighting never started. The whole situation would be more peaceful if the U.S. never intervened with Iraq's civil war. It is even too late for regrets now, the most viable thing to do is to withdraw troops now.
With so many lives lost and money wasted, why not just pull out the 160,000 troops out of Iraq? Bush says that the military are in search of Al-Qaeda, that Osama Bin Laden must be captured. The problem is that Al-Qaeda operates in Pakistan. Al-Qaeda also operates in Afghanistan. The odds of finding Al-Qaeda or even Bin Laden are pretty slim (Stephen Biddle). Losing money and angering U.S. citizens, why does Bush hope to stay in Iraq? Some say he is gaining a personal profit. Others say he is insane, but one thing is for sure; Bush certainly did the wrong thing entering Iraq. For the sake of the innocent lives lost, for the sake of the money wasted, for the sake of the angered public, pull troops out! Evacuate before the situation escalates to another level! Leave before it is too late!
