Do you know anybody who is a supporter of Hillary Clinton? I do. Mostly I know people who would rather vote for Obama than Mccain because his policy is so much closer to Hillary's than Mccain's is, but on her web site(yes, I just read a blog post on her web site) it was post after post of denouncing Barack Obama because he "stole" the election and because he isn't "entitled" to the presidency because "nobody" elected him, he was "selected" by the super delegates. I understand their frustration and anger and I hope that when the time comes they do what is right for their beliefs but I've written this email which I ask that everybody send to Hillary supporters.
I'm really sorry you feel upset but I think you are angry at the wrong person. Obama does deserve the nomination. He didn't steal anything and if you are angry at democracy for choosing someone you dislike then voting for someone who has a strong political difference from you is a shame.
The following is a list of things that you will lose out on if you elect John Mccain:
The right to abort
McCain has already promised to elect judges that will overturn Roe V Wade. Please think about the impending health issues, the impending social issues and the amount of problems this will cause. Women's rights will be thrown back to its beginning if you elect John Mccain. Barack Obama has stated that nobody is pro abortion but people are pro choice and he is right. A woman should have the right to choose as it is her health in question. Do you really want back room coat hanger abortions that jeopardize the women who must have them? NO.An End To The Iraq War
John McCain has promised to keep soldiers in Iraq for as "long as necessary" citing that he believes there is a reasonable argument to keep solders in Iraq for the next 100 years. Barack Obama is and has always been against the war in Iraq.Energy Efficiency
John McCain claims to support the fight against global warming but has not made any indication on how he plans to do so. He doesn't believe that we need to become independent on foreign oil and has received more donations than any other candidate for president from the oil companies. Barack Obama has been fighting for E85, an alternate energy fuel which is cheaper, easier to produce and already available around the globe. A Strong Economy
John McCain has stated that he does not understand how the economy works. Barack Obama does. He knows that tax cuts to the wealthiest and to large corporations do not trickle down. He wants to rearrange the tax grid so that families who make less than 100k a year get more back on taxes.Universal Health Care
Hillary was the first one to put the health care reform idea in the minds of Americans. She fought for it and continues to do so. John Mccain calls universal health care a socialist invasion of your rights. He would rather the insurance companies rape you for every dollar and then drop you as soon as you need health care. Barack Obama has continued to fight for a health care option which is beneficial to all Americans and affordable for even the poorest Americans.Peace
John McCain does not believe that we need to negotiate with countries who may become our enemies. When asked how he wants to handle the current situation with Iran, his reply was, "That old Beach Boys song, Bomb Iran. Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran." Barack Obama has stated that he believes American troops should only be used when all other roads have been closed.Equal Rights
The Republican party has constantly muddled in the affairs of equal rights for all citizens. Barack Obama has fought hard to ensure that all people have equal rights. Things like the right to be married should apply to all Americans and Barack Obama has taken a firm stance in making all marriages legal.Election Reform
I see a lot of people complaining about how the contest has turned out. Barack Obama supports election reform and wants to make it easier for people to vote, by having elections on week ends and after hours, and has mentioned that he wants it to be easier for people who are illiterate to cast their votes. John Mccain wants to make voting as exclusive as possible.A Country We Can Be Proud Of
John McCain wants to continue to turn our country into a laughing stock for the rest of the world. We used to have the strongest economy, the most social rights, the most freedom and opportunity. Thanks tot he Bush administration that is no longer the case and John Mccain has promised to deliver on more of Bush's policies. An increased likely hood of Hillary as President
I do not believe that Hillary will be Obama's vice president simply because I believe she still wants to be president some day. If Hillary were to run as Obama's vice and they won that would simply not happen. If Mccain wins and she runs again in 4 years, she will not be a very strong competitor because she lost this election and that will be made clear when she runs in the future. If Obama wins and she runs again in 8 years, the country will be stronger than ever and more people will be ready to support the democratic nomination at that time, which Hillary has already proven she could win, given the right circumstances.
