A bench warrant was almost issued for president elect Barack Obama in a Memphis Tennessee court room recently. A code officer employed by the city of Memphis ticketed Obama when he discovered that some campaign signs were placed too close to a public road. After realizing that the judge was serious after repeatedly calling Obama's name in court, a local attorney decided to step in and represent Obama keeping the failure to appear warrant from being immediately issued. Barack's court date has been set for December 8, 2008. During an interview with local news media the attorney stated that Memphis politics are sometimes crazy!
