Cease the Din

Our willingness to fight one another while the enemy presses in.

Have you ever noticed that the voices of the ignorant are loud? I am certain that by the time that the battle of November concludes that the din across the land will be so thunderous that no reason could be heard.

The brainwashed liberals, those whose addiction to the tube has lead them to believe that Katie Couric would never mislead them, will rally to the call. People, we must believe that if we ignore the problems of the world outside our borders that they will mend themselves. Further more we will reduce taxes while still providing for all of your basic needs, so that you may lead a free and prosperous life.

Meanwhile the well-indoctrinated conservative, those whose dependence on News/Talk and NPR has convinced them that, yes, Rush Is Right, will beat the drum, wave the flag, and chant. For God and Country we must take up arms and make the world safe for Capitalism, and neither here or abroad let us muzzle the beast that we have created. Leave him to devour the earth, lest he turn more savagely upon us.

Where is the truth? Once again it lies somewhere in the middle between these two extremes, hiding in plain sight.

We are in a war for our very lives, people, and neither side will stop fighting amongst themselves long enough to realize it. The enemy presses in at every gate, and still we bicker.

It is a war fought on many fronts: and no General, dead or alive, will tell you that this is a fight we can win. The plan must be to hold the gates as we can, and then muster our resources together to attack the most dangerous of our enemies until he is defeated. Then we must turn to the next, and then the next, until all of our foes are vanquished.

It will be the most difficult thing we have ever done as a nation; but do it we must, or perish. How can we do this, though, if we are constantly at each other's throats? Our opposing views prevent us from even recognizing where the danger lies. Please, for the generations that are yet to come, let us put aside our differences.

I just wanted to be heard before it got too loud.
