According to ABC's George Stephanopolos, Clinton may be negotiating with Obama to be his running mate. This is because the democratic nomination process has gone on too long, leaving whoever the democratic candidate is, most likely Obama, with hardly any time to prepare for November's general election. So, Clinton, as the “road warrior” who has won in critical battleground states when it seemed as if her campaign was in trouble only to lose small states after the big states, who is likely to concede to Obama after the West Virginia primary, may ask Obama to be his running mate. However, Obama will more than likely reject this proposal and this would be justified because Clinton, at times during the campaign, has been dishonest.
For example, she didn't land under sniper fire on her 1996 Bosnia trip as she had claimed. On the contrary, she got red carpet treatment. Also, her “3 AM and the phone is ringing at the White House” has been pulled off the air, presumably because Clinton lacks crisis management skills. Take for example the case when several of her campaign workers were held hostage by a gunman. According to analysts, she didn't know what to do because she hadn't been fully trained to deal with hostages and captors. This doesn't sound like someone that Obama would want to be working next to, especially considering how negative things between him and Clinton have gotten over the past several weeks.
