I feel a little sorry for George Bush. I didn't vote for him in either election because common sense told me not to. In fact I was really surprised to see that anybody voted for him, but that is not my point. My point is all the people that voted for him turned their backs on him. After the first four years it should have been a no brainer. I still hear people making excuses for their bad vote by saying that Kerry was a worse choice. I'll admit Kerry was not a strong candidate and he put me to sleep with his speeches, but how could he have been worse? A guy with no experience in politics and two thirds of his brain blown out could not have been worse. The fact remains they did vote him in and now they want him out. I just feel bad because he had to have done a few things right. Can we at least say he was the President of the United States and respect him for all the weight he did carry?
Do we really know what we are doing when we go to the polls? Louisiana voted republican this year. The Republicans left all those people to die after Katrina and they still got their vote. We have a new president now and he is obviously different from all the others. In more ways than one I might add. Did we do the right thing? I don't know but I do ask all of you to do one thing. If he makes things worse in the first four years vote him out and if he makes things better keep him in. When Bush won for the second time I was a bit embarrassed to be an American. I made damn sure right from the start to tell everyone that I wasn't one of the morons that kept him in the White House and it felt pretty good. It felt even better every time he said something stupid, but it got old by the time it was all over.
I am proud of America for not electing John McCain. He would have been as lousy as Bush, but I was a little worried that Americans had as a whole smoked way too much weed. Thank you and lets all hope we did the right thing.
