Poised to Run the Show: John McCain and Barack Obama Contend Economic Primacy

As the Presidential election draws closer, the two candidates try to show they are better than the other at dealing with real economic problems.

As Presidential elections close up, each party's candidate is trying convey the idea of being best placed to deal with the economic side of the politcal equation. With the latest news on the economic crisis echoing and amplifying the credit-crunch disaster, issues of security are being put aside. War veteran John McCain would hav probably have it the other way round. In reality President Bush has exhorted all sides to join efforts in an attempt to free Wall Street as much as possible from some of the burden that the current recession is imposing. Nevertheless, this is an ideal battleground for the Democrats to step in and show their strenghts (their record in office seems to suggest an overall better performance than that of their counterparts). It will be indeed interesting to witness Sarah Palin debating issues sorrounding the state of the National Economy and finding out exactly how her experience in Alaska has prepared her for the rather bigger job that awaits her, should she succed into getting elected.
