After a fast and frenzied presidential nominating season, especially for the Democrats, we have come to a lull in the race. The Republicans have chosen their guy so there is no more suspense there. The Democrats are still without a clear leader this late in the game, but there is not much action to take place for a bit.
There are several areas of suspense that are left and they will be big deal in who gets the Democratic nod. Florida and Michigan, both with tons of delegates, have to figure out how to get their delegates seated at the national convention. The Florida Democratic party has thrown the ball to the national branch of the party to try and figure out how to do this. Pennsylvania is the biggest state left to hold a primary, but that is still a few weeks off.
Both candidates will turn to the super delegates for a bit. This group will hold the key to who gets the nomination. Neither Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama will get to the convention with the required number of delegates insuring a fight at the convention.
So while the Republican race is over and done the Democrats continue to fight it out. The country has not seen this in a very long time. It continues to stay interesting. This is a good lesson for all of us to watch. Unfortunately, as time goes on the Democratic race with get nastier and nastier. It will all be worth watching though. Maybe the best man, uh, person win.
