The Presidential Dilemma

Not all of America is pleased with our choices for President this time. This is one citizen's opinion and feedback.

What do we do when no candidate seems to be the right candidate for the job?

The American people are in a quandary. It seems there are many who feel that no candidate running for president is the right candidate for the job. What are we to do when we aren't happy with any of our choices? It's been a long, tormenting, and dramatized election year.

Get Some Backbone

We as Americans are, in my humble opinion, allowing ourselves to become too soft. We're putting up with more and more as a whole in society. The values have gone downhill. The bleeding heart liberalists, along with the greedy, are ruining our country. There are many I've spoken with over the past few months who feel that it is a no-win situation when we elect our next president. The opinions are that Hillary Clinton is too controlling, Obama is too passive, and McCain is the least damaging choice of the three. That doesn't make him the best choice, only the better out of the choices we are forced to endure. Why? Because we've lost our backbone and let the wrong people fatten their pocketbooks at our expense.

Fix the Leadership

How are we ever going to win the war on terrorism or the war on greed? It will take much more than our next president to straighten out the problems in our country. Leadership needs a total work-over. Many of us feel that it is simply a downhill slide that has been happening for quite some time; and that it will take much more than a new president to renew and rejuvenate our sad state of affairs.

American People Have Lost Hope

We have become so overcome with tunnel vision and hopelessness that we feel money will rule over any so-called choice we can make in the election. Money is power. Pulling the right strings and scratching the right backs is the way to get the foot in the door. It's who you know more than what you know. How can we have a chance to take back our country from terrorists when we ourselves are the main culprits for ruining what was once a proud nation? Now pride seems like all the other empty words people throw around superficially. It has lost its quality and depth. It has become a word of shallow meaning. That's why our American people have lost hope in our country and in the election.

Trust is Dismal

I wonder…if we stacked up all the honest, good, decent Americans who truly mean what they say against the rest, would we have a number great enough to restore hope and strength to our great country. People have given in and given up. Even those who start out with the right ideas become manipulated or over-powered by the ones who don't want them to succeed. Brainwashing is amuck. Trust in our government and politicians is dismal. We don't even trust each other, so why trust them!

What Election?

What are elections good for anyway? Maybe they only serve to show us how little power the American people as a whole really do have over the money and power of those who battle for control. Have presidential elections become just a good show for the media and the public?

Wake Up, America

Yes, I said wake up, America. We need to pull together to turn things around, to take back our country. From the terrorists, you ask? No. From those who called themselves proud Americans while they twisted the knives in our backs. From those who were born and raised on our own turf and continue to lie, cheat, steal, and deceive in the broad open while we watch and aid them. Even if we are not personally involved, how many of us are contributing by allowing? Too many, I say.

Think about it. Is it really the presidential candidates who are the threat or are we turning on our own people? I say we have become so narrow-minded that we have taken entertainment of the media over quality in almost every area of life. Those who can make the news are the popular, even if they are bad guys (or women, if you'd prefer). Those who can shake things up and get attention are what Americans have chosen, even if that attention is for the wrong reasons.

The presidential dilemma is only one of our serious areas of concern. It's a distraction from the more disturbing issues that need our attention, and a disappointing one at that.

Great article. You are so right about the elections. Our problems are not what is happening now, but what has been accumulating over the years as we watch and do nothing. Good writing. Keep it up.
