Why Barack Obama Is an Interesting Candidate

You have probably heard of Barack Obama. Most likely, probably is not an answer, because you have most certainly heard of him. Barack Obama is probably the most interesting candidate in this election.

Obama is more distinct than all the other candidates, he is young, and can bring everyone together! Three main issues that Barack says he will change is immigration problems, changing the economy, and his plan for foreign policy. These points are extremely interesting to know, and will give you a better view on a man who says he can change a country, Barack Obama.

Barack Hussein Obama, is a junior senator from Illinois, and the only African American serving in the Senate currently. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on April 4, 1961, to Barack Obama (Senior) and Ann Dunham. After Obama's father went back to his homeland of Kenya, his mother married an other person, Lolo Soetoro, and the family moved to Indonesia. Barack Obama attended school in Indonesia for most of his elementary years, until he was moved back to Honolulu to live with his grandparents, and further his education until he graduated from high school. After that, he studied at Occidental Collage and the famed Columbia University. Obama got a masters degree in political science, international relations being his strength (which again makes him a good candidate). In his later years, Obama even went to Harvard Law School and became an associate attorney. In 2004 he was then elected into the Senate in the Democratic party.

Barack Obama supported important bills like the Secure Fence Act. This gave the United States permission to build a fence on the border of Mexico, to deter illegal immigrants. He also supported the Coburn-Obama, that lists organizations receiving federal funds, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act. Most famously, he is known for supporting the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act, a law that puts more strictness on lobbying activity, and creating the Iraq War De-Escalation Act which of course, has phases for getting U.S. troops out of Iraq.

Now that we know the background of Barack Obama, we can understand some of the major plans he has in store. One is his immigration policy. Because of the alarming illegal immigrant problem, Obama says he will do a number of actions, one being strengthening the border, walls, and fence. Obama plans to work with Mexican Government to discourage illegal immigration. He will also try to make law abiding immigrants citizens of the United States, using a system that teaches English (but immigrants have to pay a fine if they're illegal).

Barack Obama's motto about change also includes the economy. His plans are to balance middle class taxes by creating universal mortgage credit ,and eliminate income taxes for the elderly with certain qualifications. Barack plans to power the workforce, improve schools, and International trade agreements. American businesses, both big and small are planned to be helped.

Most talked about and conversed about Obama is his foreign policy plan. One huge action that is being argued left and right is ending the Iraq War. Barack Obama says he has a detailed and premeditated plan to end the war. To end conflicts in Iran, Obama says, he will use peaceful matters to bring back Iran to a peaceful nation. Plans to improve our military forces is another part of Barack's foreign policy strategy. Most difficult of all, that Barack says he can solve is, ridding the world of nuclear weapons. Imagine a world without that fear.

With the fact that Barack Obama is probably the first famous African American candidate in the country's history and many ideas, he is a very interesting candidate to look out for. His plans, history, and education has got him to where he is today. Be sure to watch out for Barack Obama!
