Will Sarah Palin Break the Glass-ceiling? Part II

Women are unique individuals with various gifts and talents. Some of us are superwomen who can multi-task while some of us concentrate on one thing at a time. This year is particularly exciting for women voters as we have a real superwoman, Sarah Palin, who is the first Republican Woman Nominee for Vice President of the United States of America.

A little more than a month has passed since Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska became the 2008 Vice Presidential Nominee for the Republican Party of the USA - selected by Senator John McCain, the Presidential Nominee of the Republican Party and approved by the GOP National Convention in Minnesota in late August.

Not a beat was missed immediately after the Convention closed, as The McCain Campaign used the internet to invite Fairfax, Virginia citizens to meet and greet and rally for him and Sarah in Northern Virginia.

Within a weekend , Virginia women rallied to the occasion as they e-mailed and furiously called other women to go to the kick-off event for McCain and Palin in a park in Fairfax City - approximately 23,000 to 28,000 people came to give a Virginia send-off to John and Sarah.

Virginia’s voters, particularly women, have not been so enthusiastic about an election and candidate since Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan energized the ‘Silent Majority’ in 1980 and 1984.

Nor, has the world been so focused on our Presidential elections. Consider what is being said on BBC in Europe:

"A Star is Born! " The Speech (Given at the Republican National Convention by Sarah Palin)

October 2nd, is an historic moment for our nation, . the Governor of Alaska and Vice Presidential Nominee Sarah Palin engaged in debate with Senator and Vice Presidential Nominee Joe Biden, representing the Republican and Democrat Parties, respectively.

As you watched the debates I trust you considered the following questions.

  1. Did Sarah Palin assess and utilize Senator Joe Biden’s weaknesses effectively?
  2. Did Sarah Palin take off her lady-gloves at the appropriate times during the debates?
  3. Will this be a definitive step on the way for Sarah Palin in breaking the glass-ceiling?

Comments welcome. Part III to be written and posted after the debate.
