We need change in America, no one person can give us that change. We need to stop the corruption and the greed that has caused so much chaos, economically and otherwise. I guess you could say I have taken on this cause to stop what I see as a failed system. America was founded as a land of immense freedoms, but when there is infighting among "the powers that be" in America's leadership circles,how can there be any progress?
I saw a t-shirt once that said "If pro is the opposite of con, does that make congress the opposite of progress?" While the shirt was meant as a joke, nonetheless it brought up a good point. Freedoms need to be protected, and when leadership abuses it's power and corruption and greed enter the equation, then the people of the country need to stand up for themselves.
I am not targeting congress with this article, I am speaking of the leadership of the U.S. in general. Do not get me wrong,there are some leaders that use their positions to serve the citizenry of our country, but there are far too many that are self serving with their own agendas.
Liberal,self serving agendas have no place in leadership circles. America is a country whose leadership is supposed to have interests beyond their personal gain. America is supposed to be "by the people,for the people." I am saying we need an overhaul in the entire system, to bring this country back to its roots.
Beyond politics, we also need an overhaul of the justice system. Too many criminals are getting off with "victimization defenses", what I mean is that criminals are coming up with more excuses,trying to get juries to see them as victims themselves. In the justice system accepting these defenses from criminals,all too often the real victims never attain real justice.
Stop the corruption all together, bring the integrity back to America. Whether it be political,corporate,judicial,or just keeping the individual responsible for their own actions. Every corner of our society needs to know that accountability is still paramount and cannot be overlooked or pushed aside.
Compromising and pushing aside decency and common values is completely contemptable and unacceptable. After all,what is civilization without integrity and decency? Can a society without basic principles even be considered civilized? The answer is an unequivocal No.
As goes the leadership,so goes the country, with that said my dear readers, let us make it known to our leaders that corruption among any of their ranks is not tolerable to us,the American people. The citizens of freedom's land.
