Mugabe Offers a Third-Party Vice-President Post to Tsvangirai

Tsvangirai will most likely refuse to take on this post as he doesn't want to be associated with torture.

In an effort to appease the international community, Zimbabwe's dictator, Robert Mugabe has offered the post of Vice President #3 to outspoken opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai, according to a report released by CNN.

According to sources close to the negotiation, Mugabe put forward an offer of mediation after Tsvangirai pulled out of an election he called rigged and unfair in which many of Tsvangirai's supporters were tortured.

Last week, Mugabe and Tsvangirai reportedly signed a power-sharing agreement, but the bigger implication is: why should Tsvangirai share power with one of the world's most brutal dictators with a hideous record for violating the most basic human rights? If Tsvangirai is in the same government as Mugabe, that means that Tsvangirai is also associated with torture. Therefore, Tsvangirai shouldn't accept this offer.
