In America today the polticians play
Each and everyone their own little games
While the Congress and the Senate,
clap each other on the back and cheer
for give ing each other raises
when they are already over payed
and with all their awesome perks
that are making them richer day by day.
The Teachers go on strike
because they are under paid
and the children stay home
and learn not - but get to play
Meanwhile the rest of the Americans
The poor and lower middle class too are
trying to survive while hoping for better days .
While their tax money is being frettered away
on meanigless expenses as the politicians play.
The Presidaent is dreaming of a way
to win a war which sucks up more money along the way,
not to mention all the lost lives - of Loved ones every day
Meanwhile cver the prevailing years
the money from Social Security
has been siphoned away , while politiacians play
All the poor and the lower middle class,
the retired and disabled have to pay.
And beg for enough money to survive on each and everyday
They can not get over $685.00 apiece each month
and if they move in together then half of that money is taken away
the poverty level is set at $1,200.00 a month or something close to it anyway
that is such a joke when you are poor today - but it sounds good on paper any oh way
Instead of giving raises to the teachers and public officials
lower on the rung - those who really need them - don't you know
and raising the rates for education and health care
And giving those on Social Security and Disability
enough to actually live on
They did work while they were able ,
& often at demeaning jobs that no one else would do
or even think of getting and would not have stayed at any oh way
but they are still Americans and important as any other3/16/2007
The politicians play their games
While working for the people and their country
it just seems their taking all that they can get
and busting up our countrys hopes and dreams
of everyone having enough not to have to do without
Maybe if all of them got together and took 20% percent
off of any one making over $75,000.00 a year
both working and retired - All the Politicians & retired ones
including the Presidents and ex Presidents too
and divided that money between Social Security, Disability,
Raises for Teachers & lower paid Public officials too
Education, and Health Care then their would be enough for all
If they could just get past their greed and think of the people too
Then truly our Country would be back to i t's Golden Days.
Living up to the Dreams of our Forefathers again
The Greatest Country Once More
Both in Heart and in Men
Then maybe God would Smile on us once again
