Random Bits of Truth 4

Back once again for day four is the column that everyone is buzzing about! ("Everyone" is basically my mom and my mom and my mom).

Have you been kissing too many frogs? Got warts? Yahoo is reporting that duct tape can aid in the cure of warts. Duct tape must be the universal tool of the century. There are so many uses for duct tape from making a prom dress to building a home. Who needs anything else? Personally, I use duct tape all over the house to hang furniture from the ceiling, remove unwanted body hair and bound my mouth to keep me from eating anymore of that chocolate cake that is calling my name on the counter. Yes, America loves its duct tape, but I just wish it came in a variety of lovely colors. Someone needs to work on that!

Terry Bradshaw the legendary quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 70's, (Go Chargers!), admits in Yahoo Sports to being “roided up.” You mean to tell me that the Iron Steel super quarterback of numerous Super Bowl rings was on something? Tell me it isn't true. Too much information Terry! You are killing the dream. I do wish to commend Terry on telling the truth. For truth telling is a rarity in the world of super human athletes. But next time Terry, we won't ask and you don't really need to tell either. Let us live the illusion.

Reporting from Wimbledon: Maria Sharapova wore a tennis “tux” on the court the other day. Not many people can wear just anything and get away with it. But let's focus on the tennis Maria and remember winning Wimbledon is not all about the outfit. Win Wimbledon and then we can talk about your fashion sense or lack of it.

Also from Wimbledon: PETA is very upset about the alleged shooting of pigeons at the tennis event. A note to PETA: No one seems to care about 5000 racing horses that were euthanized in the last five years (here) and I doubt anyone will be up in arms about pigeons being killed. The horse racing story has mysteriously vanished from the headlines and will all but be forgotten until another horse is euthanized live on television.

The Supreme Court of the United States took a giant step backwards in protecting the child rapist. Once again the highest court in the land proved that child rapists who are not worthy to inhabit this planet, have rights. They may have raped children but it is

“unjust and cruel” to uphold the death penalty in these cases.

If children are our most valuable resource, why are we not broadcasting this on “Oprah” and jumping on her couch over this appalling decision? We continue to place convicted criminals in prison and we all pay for their accommodations through our insanely high tax dollars. I believe that we can save children and money-“lose the losers” permanently.

Obama and McCain are you listening? Next!
