Elections are still an issue in some parts of the world. Elections are a sign to democratize. Countries through elections decide of a plan or programme. The most advanced countries in the world organize elections on a regular basis. Political parties introduce themselves to the media. There are two types of elections universal and indirect. The elections in Kenya have a controversial outcome whereas Kenya is one of the most advanced countries in Africa. Kenya is an important country in Africa and in the world.
Kenya is located in East Africa. The capital city of Kenya is Nairobi in the South. Kenya is bordered by Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Somalia and Sudan. Kenya has an opening on the Indian Ocean. Mombassa is one of the important cities on the Indian Ocean, which allows ships to bring goods that are distributed all over Africa. Kenya is an important tourist destination for its wild life and seashore. There are lions, giraffes and zebras in Kenya. The most expensive hotel Tree Tops is in a tree. There are animals that walk around the hotel. So, there are grounds that everything must be done to bring peace in Kenya. This last country is also known for President Jomo Kenyatta the first president of Kenya who was a contemporary of Haile Selassie Emperor of Ethiopia.
Therefore, Kenya has to be the country where the peace troops of the United Nations and the Security Council can set a model. Kenya is an English speaking country. That is why the operation of the United Nations can have an important impact. Kenya is a very big country which does commerce with many countries. The tea and coffee of Kenya are very famous for example. In the movie “Out of Africa” one can see how Karen Blixen, a Danish royal pays tribute to the coffee. Karen Blixen had a coffee plantation in Kenya. Nowadays there is a place called Karen in Kenya. Thus, food is very nutritious in Kenya. That is even where the headquarters of the United Nations Environment Programme as well as the United Nations Centre for Human Settlements are located.
Kenya has all the infrastructure and communication means to make a fair deal between the belligerent. There are other countries, which have encountered the same problems as Kenya due to elections for instance Angola. Kenya and Angola have a common problem, which is to recount votes. In the case of Kenya there is another problem, which is the ethnic problem. The most important ethnic group in numbers in Kenya are the Kikuyu. The Kikuyu are mainly agriculturalists. Now, the Kikuyu and the Luo in Kenya disagree on votes. In Angola the problem of the controversy about elections was between Unita and MPLA two major political parties. In the case of Kenya the problem can be considered as an issue between agriculturalists and nomads. The Darfur war does not ease the negotiations but so far there have been efforts because to let us know the parties opposed which are on one side Kibaki and on the other side Odinga.
