There are souvenirs of books and authors who make us think about the making of news. One of the most important authors for the news in our time is the book of Hans Mayer « Die Brundi ». Hans Mayer is a paleontologist originally from Germany. He lived in Burundi where he made observations on the populations. There is a movie based on his stay in Burundi, which is « Watutsi »which links this last country to Rwanda. Hans Mayer was fascinated by the height of the population. They can be very tall or short.
This reminds us of the Russian doll in wood called Babushka. There are several dolls in the doll, which are of different sizes. This makes us think that there are populations who must be tempted to know the secret on what can make you look short or tall. Men are supposed to be taller than women. Back to the title of the book, which in German means The Barundi. There must be a message in the title for those who know Kirundi and this is I have ate like Barundi or I have put down the Barundi. As a matter of fact, the German protectorate funded Usumbura, which is Bujumbura today the capital of Burundi. In Kirundi, the word Bujumbura refers to sweet potatoes, which is ibijumbu. The suffix « ra » is often used in Kinyarwanda language, which means rather. Everybody knows that sweets are for girls. So, it is possible that Hans Mayer is referring to his daughter probably born in Burundi. In the light of this, the problem in the Great Lakes region is due to physical problems. In fact, there is jalousie between the populations.
There are even those who say that a woman is sure to keep her husband if she knows how to cook. This can give an explanation to the reasons why populations of Hutu, twa and tutsi origins live and or are in conflict in the Great Lakes region. The populations in the Great Lakes region are Tutsi, Hutu and Twa. There is a fourth and fifth population, which are less talked about, and they are Bembe and Swahili. The Bembe are also in Angola where most Africans left to go to the Americas. The Swahili are in large numbers in Tanzania. They are populations who do business with the coast in Tanzania particularly Dar es Salaam. Languages have meanings, which vary in every culture, and in Italian the expression « Die » means day there is also a word, which is « Sine Die ».
During meetings when an agreement has not been reached, the meeting can be postponed sin die. This means that no one knows when the meeting will take place again. There is a museum in Leipzig in former East Germany, where some objects from Burundi are displayed. Burundi is in Central Africa. The position of Burundi is very central. The country has many green plants. The cassava plant produces green leaves that make one of the dishes of Central Africa. This plant is also found in Brazil.
