Beware: Criminals are Using China Made Mobile

Technical snag lead to criminal advancement.

An extortion call made from Dubai to a business man in Malaysia but despite being all surveillance and continuous efforts by police they were not able to trace the location of the phone being used. Do you want to know why?

Most of the criminals in South Asia i.e. India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and so on are using china made mobiles. The technology that is called IMEI (International mobile equipment identity number) which is used to trace the mobile and which is a unique number allocated to each mobile is missing in those china made mobile, means they do not have IMEI so if someone wants to trace the location of call that can't be done and more gravity of the situation is that most of the traders are selling them in grey market as they do not want to give any receipt or bill of those mobiles as to save sales and other tax being paid.

IMEI numbers is helpful in the case of stolen mobiles too, if your mobile is stolen and you call the network provider than that particular mobile can be “banned”. It's a 14 digit plus checks digit number and can help surveillance team to identify the tower used for service while making the calls.

This technology has helped a lot now a day to keep a check on criminals and to find out their hide outs as even if someone changes SIM frequently or changes his number but this unique identification number helps to trace the particular mobile is being used by criminals. This is an alarming situtation for security and polices and they are looking for a solution to this problem, till the time there is no traceable solution to those china made mobiles without IMEI numbers, it would be really hard for them to keep a check on criminal hideout or his mode of operation area.

If some one can come with an answer to this problem can really help south Asian police.
