Six Britains go on trial next week for the plotting of attacks on London's public transportation systems in July 2005. The six men are charged with planning to set off explosives on the underground trains and a bus on July 21st setting off panic due to the suicide bombings earlier.
The trial is scheduled to be held in the Woolwich Court in eastern London, a very high security court. This will be one of the largest anti-terrorism court cases Britain has seen in years. The plot failed due to the explosives not detonating which led to one of Britain's biggest manhunts.
The men face multiple charges such as “conspiracy to cause explosions likely to endanger life or cause serious injury to property”, “possessing an explosive substance with intent”, “attempted murder”, and “conspiracy to murder”. The six men will be tried sometime within the next week and can face up to life in prison.
