Everyone wants this war to come to an end. Whether it's 3 years from now or 5 years from now, it's time to bring them home. So many lives have been lost since it has started. And not just soldiers there have been civilian casualties also as there would be in any war.
There were about 6,000 deaths on 9/11/2001. Over a million have died since. Among the loss of soldiers there is also over 40,000 Iraqi civilians have also been killed and not just by the Taleban. Our own troops have killed innocent people. It hasn't been the first time either. The Vietnam War, also an unnecessary war like the one we are in now. It was worse than this one. Over 500,000 civilians were killed.
Those out there that think that these people deserve whatever they get you are no better than the ones that caused the incident on 9/11. The Iraqi people didn't have anything to do with that. The only reason why we are even there is because Bush had the opportunity to try to make his daddy proud. He did get Sadam. It was just an excuse was that they had weapons of mass destruction. Oil was just a ploy to try to smooth things over.
Afghanistan, which is where the war started, is where the Taleban were and still are, also where Bin Laden was. I should add that Bin Laden is the one who started it all and they still haven't found him. George Bush always gets his man, except for one exception. Now that we are going to have a new president maybe things will start getting done.
The violence is supposedly dying down, if that is so then why are so many troops still there? It's time to let Iraqis take over their own government. This war has cost us too much. The United States is in debt because of it. The Iraqi people are safer now than they were before Sadam was hung. And yes as hard as it to believe there are still countries that hang people.
The future president of the United States will get the troops out. There are those out there that might not like our new president elect. But we needed a president that will not refuse to meet with the presidents and rulers of other countries. Or start wars to make daddy proud. Or one that is so old that he wouldn't survive a full term with a VP that isn't qualified for the position.
