According to the Associated Press their probe launched to investigate the purity of drinking water has revealed a very scary fact. Your drinking water, the water you drink every day off the tap may contain certain pharmaceutical drugs ranging from Mood Enhancers, Anti Depressants, sex hormones, anti-convulsions, and Antibiotics.
These results were found in, but not limited to Southern California, New Jersey, Louisville Kentucky, and Detroit Michigan, my old stomping grounds was just outside of Detroit, in a small suburb called Warren.
The concentrations of the drugs found were very weak, measured in parts per million which are not enough for a medical dose, but no one seems to be clear on the long term effects of constant exposure over a long term.
According to the Associated Press, when approached a major supplier of drinking water in Southern California admitted not reporting their findings to the public saying “the public would not know how to interpret the information”, and might cause undue alarm.
From coast to coast we eat chemically treated vegetables, meat tainted with hormones and steroids, and now we find out our drinking water is also tainted? Our air is full of pollutants, and there seems to be no escape.
If this does not irk you off, it should. It is very important that we contact our legislature and complain about a few of these issues. I am a news man, I bring the truth to the public, that is my job, but one man can not by himself change the world.
Only you guys collectively can do that, there are power in numbers. The more people who rally behind a cause the more likely it is that that cause will get noticed. That is how this nation was built. The United States technically is not a democracy as most people believe, it is a representative republic. Our forefathers designed our government that way in an attempt to prevent a tyrant from taking control of this great nation.
They guaranteed the bill of rights with unalienable rights for every American, and they wrote a constitution that was based on the premises that all men were created with the right to voice their opinions openly, it guarantees the freedom of the press, and allow people to redress the government over grievances. I would think very hard on Election Day, and consider whom it is you vote for, because your vote, while it is a single vote, does count for your rights.-JS
