The hurricane Gustav has crashed ashore into the Louisiana fishing and oil industry early this morning. It did not have the punch that Hurricane Katrina had as I am sure everyone is very happy about. It came on shore near Cocodrie, Louisiana with winds at 110 mph and a category 2 hurricane. I know that I as one, was worried about what it would do to those that have finally been able to return and once again have had to leave because of a hurricane.
I am happy to tell you that the levees in New Orleans held, although reports tell us that Hurricane Gustav was not as much of a risk as Katrina was, people in New Orleans where still concerned that the levees would not hold. We can all be very thankful that as devastating as Hurricane Gustav was it was not as sever as Katrina. Now we have another tropical storm that has just been classified as Hurricane Hanna that is being reported to make land fall sometime in the middle of this week. So which will get it from Hanna, Florida or the east coast?
