Kennedy Suffers Seizure

Ted Kennedy, the iconic senator from Massachusetts and a key early Obama supporter and the second-longest serving senator behind only fellow icon Robert Byrd, has suffered a seizure after only recently overcoming serious brain cancer.

According to a report by NBC, one of the patriarchs of the American senate, Democratic Sen. Edward (Ted) Kennedy is in the hospital once again after suffering “a mild seizure”, according to his office.

According to Barnstable, Massachusetts Police Sergeant Ben Baxter, Kennedy was “alert and conscious” as he was transported to the hospital.

This is the first reported setback for Kennedy, a key Obama supporter, since undergoing brain cancer surgery. The Kennedys are certainly no stranger to tragedy. Ted Kennedy has seen 2 of his brothers, John and Robert, assassinated before being diagnosed with brain cancer. He is the second most senior member on Capitol Hill behind only West Virginia iconic senator Robert Byrd.
