I can’t wait for the election to be over. Political ads are filling up my recycle bin and have loaded down my email’s trash folder. And most of the messages that have been forwarded a million times are so outrageous and offensive I’m occasionally incensed that anyone I know (and you know who you are) keep passing them along.

But I've got a few political thoughts of my own. This campaign has raised for me some interesting questions. I feel like assumptions have been made and taken for granted. I can't help but wonder, would be saying the same thing about these men, and lady, if their personal histories were reversed.

The point is to ask yourself, WHAT IF...?

What if the Obama/Biden vs McCain/Palin tickets and personal histories were switched around? Would the country's collective point of view be different? It’s something to consider…

What if the Obamas had walked five children across the stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?

What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?

What if Obama had left his first wife after a severe car accident disfigured her?

What if Obama met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while he was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the candidate's wife who became addicted to painkillers and acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five? (The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if McCain were a charismatic, eloquent speaker and Obama had difficulty reading from a teleprompter?

What if Obama were the candidate whose military experience included discipline problems?

What if Obama were the candidate known to display publicly a serious anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer distribution?

What if McCain graduated from Harvard with a Juris Doctor (J.D.), Magna Cum Laude (that means "top of class")?

What if Palin earned duel BA’s in History and Political Science from the University of Delaware and a Juris Doctor (J.D) from Syracuse University College of Law?

What if Obama ranked 894 of 899 in the United States Naval Academy

What if Biden spent 1 semester at Hawaii Pacific University, 2 semesters at North Idaho College, 2 semesters at the University of Idaho, 1 semester at Matanuska-Susitna College, then finally three semesters at University of Idaho earning a B.A. in Journalism

Is It Because I is Barack?

What is it about Barack Obama that offends fifty percent of Americans? Just why is it that the man who was hailed in July by adoring Europeans at a speech Berlin as the next Jesus Christ superstar saviour of the world, is now still only neck and neck with his rival John McCain in the latest opinion polls? These are the kind of searching questions the Obama camp has been asking itself, along with those with any shred of sanity left in the rest of the world. In the months since his nomination as Presidential candidate, Obama has been scurrying around like the new kid in school trying to make friends and reunite the Democrats, America, and even the world. But something is holding him back in the eyes of the voters he must depend on to fulfil his destiny.

Indeed, Obama must be pouting at himself in the mirror and asking, "Is it because I is black?" Desperation has set in at the Democrat war machine. Rumours abounded this week that Obama's aides have been making enquiries at the door of another Christ figure with race issues: the man, the legend, Michael Jackson himself. Short of radical skin lightening procedures, goes the argument, how else will Obama stroll into the Whitehouse with that face? Although Jackson's PR denied that the superstars had met face to face, they declined to comment as to whether Obama's people had been referred to a certain plastic surgeon. Whiteman's Clinic for the Racially Challenged in Phillidelphia, where Jackson has been a regular customer since the 1990s, also refused to comment when questioned as to the legitimacy of these rumours. Let's just hope that if Obama does decide become a white man for the Whitehouse that he'll resist the temptation to scoop up Hilary Clinton's former supporters while he's under the knife. Just think what he could achieve by shaving just a bit off his nose and chin and acquiring a bouffant wig.

Colin Farrell

Colin Farrell was spotted wearing a ring on his left hand that looks remarkably like a wedding band while having a cigarette outside LAX airport.

Sources claim that he and long term girlfriend Muireann McDonnell have wed in a secret location after dating since 2006. The pair met at a Christmas party in Dublin and have been inseparable since, Colin is said to be smitten with his love interest even referring to her as "the one" however recent wedding claims are still unconfirmed by either Colin or Muireann.

Interestingly, enough the sexy star was said to be hiding his hand from paparazzi. I then have to ask the question why wear the ring if you have something to hide? The problem I face is am I too willing to find fault in this recent accusation?... do I simply want it to be untrue?... am I joining the chorus of woman across the UK who are screaming noooo don't let it be true?

Should we simply accept the possibility that he and long time girlfriend have made this commitment regardless of whether they have actually tied the knot?

I don't know about you but I think I'll wait for concrete evidence before I deny myself the hope of becoming the next Mrs Colin Farrell!

Britney Spears: On the Mend and Looking Good

There were photo's published in the media this week (July 21st 2008) of pop star, Britney Spears attending a charity bash, hosted by The Mask star, Jim Carey and his partner, Jenny McCarthy. Sporting a Californian tan and a healthy glow, dressed in a hot black number, stilletos, and the trademark hair extensions, Britney honestly looked like a respectable young lady and a happiness beamed from her eyes. A far cry from the wild and crazy Britney that filled the tabloids earlier this year.

According to reports, the "new" Britney is all down to the watchful eye of her father. Jamie Spears is a former alcoholic and if he wasn't a positive influence over his daughter in her younger days,he certainly is now. After Britney's psychotic breakdown, Jamie took full control of her life, putting an end to the all night drug and booze benders, the erratic drive time cruises and keeping the "bad company" at a distance ( a restraining order is on her manager and she has supervised visits with her rumoured boyfriend, British photographer, Adnan Ghalib. This "tough love" regime has kept the pop princess away from trouble and negativity she was surrounded in, and although she hasn't regained custody of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, she has won more visitation rights. Britney is also reported to be teaching children to dance at a Hollywood dance school.

I'm no big Britney fan, but watching a young girl, America's Pop Princess publicly self- destruct wasn't easy on the eye and it's nice to see her making progress in getting her life back together again. Whilst the media and public eagerly await her next studio comeback, I'm just happy to see her on the road to recovery. Her sons need a healthy and stable mother more than the fans need her music, but with her father guiding her it's possible she can do both.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell Has Air Rage

When it comes to Naomi Campbell , a.k.a Supermodel Bad Girl, it's misery loves company. She was charge with assulting police officers on the British Airways and sentence to $200 of community service. The reason she gave for acting out was because someone on the Airlines called her a " Gollywog Supermodel". That's just no excuse what so ever. It's bad enough acting out when someone insults you to your face and you let them have it, just don't spread that ugly hurt feeling to the ones that are there to intervene (the police officers). That just isn't right !

Now lets say, that the police officers continue to spread there ugly hurt feeling that they just encountered to another innocent bystander and so on. That wouldn't be fair. Hurt can spread like a virus. If you really think about maybe that person was having a bad and gave her a dose of ugly hurt feelings. My suggestion to her is learn how to deal with the problem by ignoring that person. If she feeds into what they are saying about he,r then she is allowing them to control her feelings and making her look bad to the media. Then people like myself will continue to see her as a"Supermodel Bad Girl". If she can't retain her feelings inside, maybe she should get checked out to see if she has Bipolor.

On a good note, I am glad that she pled guilty because she knew what she did was wrong and that she went too far. That's the first step in getting help.

The New Celebrity: Not Being Exposed

In this day and age there is a new definition of the "15 minutes of fame" and celebrity (or as I like to call it cele-brate-me). When anyone can be a star on YouTube or MySpace with something scandalous, funny or just plain offensive it is easy for people to feel as though they are somehow relevant to the world in a way they could not be before.

In the past in order to be famous or even infamous, major news media outlets all had to agree that your content was worthy of the small amount of space available on the evening news. You needed a record deal to produce and release main stream music, a contract with a major movie studio to appear in a film or a story so amazing that it would be written about in the local or maybe national newspaper.

Now with the tremendous success of reality television and the advances of the internet and computers, you can simply photograph or video yourself, often using your home computer or inexpensive digital camera, and post it anywhere on the internet for all to see. You can also be captured on surveillance cameras doing all sorts of things you would not have been seen doing previously and billions of dollars have been made taping the escapades of college girls during their spring break drunkenness.

When anyone can be infamous for just about anything what in the years to come will be the new definition of "celebrity"? My guess is that it will be anyone who manages not to permanently sabotage their dignity in Cyberspace by getting caught or posting things that, years from now, they will regret and would likely rather forget they had done.

Celebrity Tattoo Removal: Who's Done It and Who Needs It

Quick, think of a celebrity who has tattoos. The first names that might come to mind are Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox, two Hollywood actresses who frequently get compared to on another because of the number of tattoos they are sporting on their bodies. But they're hardly the only famous people who have gotten their bodies inked. And since so many celebrities are getting images drawn onto their bodies, there are a good percentage of celebrities that are seeking to have those images removed. Tattoo removal is on the rise and celebrities are helping to set the trend.

Two Types of Tattoo Removal

There are two basic options when it comes to tattoo removal. One option is to actually get the image completely removed using laser technology. And the other is to get the tattoo lightened and then covered up with new ink. Celebrities, like anyone else, may choose either one of these options to get rid of a tattoo that they aren't interested in keeping.

Biggest Cause for Celebrity Tattoo Removal

One of the biggest reasons that someone goes in to see a tattoo removal specialist is because they have the name of a lover inked on their bodies. Matching tattoos and tattoos inspired by a romantic partner are other big causes of tattoo regret. Relationships often just don't last as long as the ink does and people don't want those ugly reminders of failed partnerships lingering on their bodies. This is even truer for celebrities than for the average person since celebrity relationships are even more intense and quicker to fade than the common relationship. As a result, break-ups are the biggest cause of celebrity tattoo removal.

Celebrities that Have Gotten Tattoo Removal

There are too many tattoo removal celebrities to count. Here are a few of the ones that really stand out over time:

Denise Richards

When she was married to Charlie Sheen, Richards was inspired by the fact that he loved her enough to get her name tattooed on him. She decided to return the favor but when the relationship recently fizzled out, she opted to get the tattoo covered up with the image of a fairy.

Charlie Sheen

Richards wasn't the only half of that couple to remove tattoos. Sheen decided that his had to go as well. Sort of. His new fiancée wanted Richards' name off his body and Sheen decided to comply with the request.

Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton

Here's another couple that got each other's names tattooed and then got them removed. Hers were covered up with the birthplace names of her kids. His was covered up by an angel.

Britney Spears

Britney recently made a comeback due in no small part to a successful appearance on the television show How I Met Your Mother. She played the role of a receptionist at a tattoo removal office which is kind of ironic since she just get a tattoo removed herself. The ink was Hebrew lettering on the back of her neck and you'll notice that it's not there anymore.

Tommy Lee

This is one of the most well-known cases of celebrity tattoo removal because the tattoo was a swastika that Lee had on his body. It's been gone since the early 1990's when he decided the ink wasn't good for his image.

Johnny Depp

Depp fans appreciate the humor of his tattoo removal which took place after his split with Winona Ryder. Taking off the simple “na” from the design created an entirely new slogan that reads “Wino Forever”.

Kathy Griffin

She had a wedding band tattooed on her finger but the marriage didn't last so the ring had to be tossed out. Laser tattoo removal did the trick.

Tony Danza

Did you know that Danza used to have a Keep On Truckin' tattoo? It's been gone since the early "90s when tattoo removal first started becoming readily available.

Celebrities Who Might Want Tattoo Removal in the Future

As stated, the biggest reason that someone might get tattoo removal is because of a break-up so there are a lot of Hollywood stars out there who should keep the name of a good tattoo removal doctor handy just in case they end up in the midst of a break-up. Here are some of those stars:

Carmen Electra

She recently got a tattoo representing the KORN guitarist that she"s currently making music with. Since her last two marriages ended in divorce, there's a good chance the ink's going to be around longer than the guitarist will.

Eva Longoria

She's got a number nine tattooed on the back of her neck in honor of her husband's jersey number. Even if the relationship stands the taste of time, there's a good chance that she's going to realize one day that she looks like a gang member because of the tattoo.

Gwyneth Paltrow

She just decided to get a tattoo of a C in honor of her lover Chris Martin.

Pink

She's got “Tru Luv” tattooed on the inside of her wrists but since she's already split from the guy who wears the match, she might want to think about removal

The Popularity of Celebrity Tattoo Removal

Celebrity tattoos and celebrity tattoo removal are both on the rise. As a result, more and more people are interested in which stars have gotten them and which have gotten them removed. This has created a new niche market in the media for anyone who is interested in reporting on these trends.

Britney Spears

Poor Britney, she is seen as a Goddess of suffering. She was young and vibrant when she started her career as a Pop star. All went well and grant until she married her lovely so called life long partner Kevin Federline. They had two beautiful sons, but a horrible and devastating divorce in 2006.

Spears decided to hit the PARTY scene to an extreme and also developed some bizarre behavior, which led to a result of rehab and loosing her kids to her x husband Kevin. Now she is going mad herself, you can also see how her family is fighting for her survival. Britney has been in the news a couple of times, with rumors of loosing her mind and going crazy. I mean, show me one person on this continent that will survive the ordeal that she is going threw.

Seemingly you loose you husband, you loose your kids and you loosing you happiness in life. I want to see any normal average person dealing with this kind of disaster as a pinch of salt. We are all made human being threw God. We can't expect all to be well and perfect with all the bad publicity coming from the media. Do they always have to be so negative about everything?

All families go threw bad patches, they all deal with it on their own, but the celebrities is getting it worse as they have cameras and stories up their alley to deal with as well. Everyone knows about their private business and then some media tabloid or the other will add a juicy sentence just to make the story a little bit more BIZARRE.

I write this in respect that we all will think before we judge, especially about our idols; we must treat them with the same respect which we would prefer to be treated with.

Would you like it if someone advertises your private unhappy drama all over the show? I did not think so.

Grow up and get a life.

Photograph Film Festival Celebrities for Extra Cash in Toronto

The first two weeks in September are a magical time in Toronto. Everything is still warm, green and alive, and there's an excitement in the air. The University of Toronto starts its fall semester in September, and thousands of students settle into new apartments and explore the city, some for the first time. The evenings are cool and alive with music.

September is also when the Toronto International Film Festival dominates the city. Known originally as "The Festival of Festivals", it was founded in 1976 at the Windsor Arms Hotel. TIFF has grown since, but is still centered in Yorkville, an upscale neighbourhood with several luxury hotels and movie theaters.

For celebrities, it's a deliberate splash. Like Sundance or Canines they come here to be photographed and of course their very presence adds to the excitement of the spectacle. With even the most basic photography equipment, anyone can lens a "moment of their time" and depending on the circumstances, that photo could be worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Being an amateur shutter bug is not against the law, nor is it immoral, as celebrities at TIFF are actually "on tour". Their press agents would probably encourage you to snap away.

Become Digital Photo Hunter

To get some perspective on the Film Festival, use Poynt on Microsoft® Windows Live™ Messenger and do a comprehensive local search of the Yorkville area. Set your location the Hotel Continental, or the Four Seasons Hotel on Cumberland and find the night clubs, coffee shops, book stores, and upscale clothing stores that attract A-list celebrities. Map a route between the hotels in the area.

Don't Wait Out Front - Go Watch the Movies

Powered by Yellowpages™ for Canadian listings and Superpages® for American listings, with movie listings powered by CinemaSource, Poynt is a very efficient movie data dispensary - Most of the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival movie listings will appear beside easy-to-understand enumerated text matched to corresponding pins on Microsoft Virtual Earth™ maps.

Sell Your Photos Online

There are several websites hungry for good quality, original celebrity photographs, especially if they are less than a few hours old. First and foremost appears to be Show Biz Spy which is mentioned in the mainstream media quite frequently as the source of some truly amazing candid shots.

The very popular Snitcher Desk has a helpful "tips list" on their site which outlines exactly what makes good and bad celebrity photo. And there is an online celebrity photo stream supporting the services of Mr. Paparazzi in which he spells out exactly how and why he takes half of everything.

Many professional photographers in Toronto endorse an American agency called Star Max Inc . People here have come to believe that good agencies do not offer to buy pictures; they broker other people's work to media outlets all over the world for a ten to thirty percent of the royalties. Typically, a different deal gets cut for every country. The biggest players are the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. Professional photographers are more than willing to let agencies like Star Max* broker the deals. In each country one dominant publication will typically buy exclusive rights to print your photo for a few months - but then it could be sold again. Try to get a piece of the photo's revenue for perpetuity.

How to Protect Your Work

Before you send emails with photo attachments, use picture editing software to crop the images, chop heads and add captions. Then email the pictures in a digital format to any of the websites listed above. Professional photographers send low resolution copies on which their business logo appears in a watermark. This discourages freeloaders. Only after you confirm a deposit of cash in your Paypal account, should you send a high resolution image with absolutely no alterations.

How to find Famous People at TIFF

Almost everyone in the media scrum that lights up the sidewalk at TIFF is paid by the hour. Their work is standard high quality content. A freelance photographer hunting a great shot cannot hope to compete here - its impossible to improve on their angles or get anything unique in that environment. You could stand outside the Gala and take ninety two amazing photographs, and ninety one of them would be totally worthless. The very best might fetch five, or ten, or maybe even twenty dollars for a hot celebrity couple. THE SECRET is to get real content alone - and for that I make a route and ride a bicycle, at night. You should patrol Yorkville and surrounding area from ten pm to three am, and if you ride a bicycle you're five times more effective. Mobility is critical, but also having the ability to cover a lot of distance can also be key to capturing that rare, one of a kind shot. Another secret is to buy a police scanner at any consumer electronics store and monitor the emergency bands downtown during TIFF.

Photograph Movie Stars acting like Real People

The real art to making money and selling good pictures is to try and capture movie stars interacting with the city, shopping, eating dinner and hailing taxi cabs - even walking dogs. Actually celebrities with pets are great and such candid shots sell at premium prices. If you see a famous actor enter an upscale dance club, it might pay to wait around to capture his exit. Take note of others waiting with cameras - these people are professional paparazzi that have probably paid informants inside the club scene to report spontaneous celebrity appearances.

September is a magical month, and the Toronto International Film Festival is a rare opportunity for lucrative photo journalism in the heart of this great city.
