The Pulitzer Prize for Foolishness

I wish there was a Pulitzer Prize for foolishness. John McCain would be its first recipient. His latest attack ad against Obama certainly caused him to stoop to the lowest common denominator.

Perhaps McCain harbors secret fantasies of being with some young, hot thing instead of that Jurassic Park known as his wife. Or maybe he gets sexually aroused at the thought of a young girl licking the skin cancer sores on his face.

It's quite obvious now that this man does not deserve to be president. McCain is a bitter old man and its time for him to retire. Need I say more?

From the kindness of my own heart, I strongly advise him to get a new campaign manager, so he can reclaim what respect and dignity he has left.

Britney, Brittany, Britney Spears

What can I say about Britney Spears that hasn't already been said on the web, magazines, television, etc.? Not much. When I first hear of Britney Spears, back when she was young and underdressed, I hate to say it but I despised her. My own daughter, named Brittany, also didn't like her. My daughter thought that she demoralized girls and women. My daughter never wanted to been seen just as a young woman but as a person as well. Yes beautiful but also, intelligent, funny and personable, not plastic.

I named my daughter Brittany because to me it sounded like a princess's name. My daughter Brittany was and still is my princess, even at age 21. Britney Spears on the other hand was raised to be a pop princess.

Not all of what has happened to Britney Spears is her fault, nor do I feel it is her parents fault. Yes, her mother was her manager and to me made some very bad judgment calls. Come on now, how many parents put their underage daughter in a school girl's uniform to parade around a camera seductively? Not many good parents. But again, I don't blame Britney's later hardships just on her parents. Media does have a lot to do with it. Living under a microscope, can any of us say we would survive? What if every move you made was taped or photographed. How good would you look?

Can you imagine what it must be like to have friends only because you are famous? People who want to be around you just because of what you can do for them. Like I said in the beginning of this, I used to despise Britney Spears. Now I kind of feel sorry for her. What kind of life has she lived so far? Money is not everything, although a lot of people might say it is. What about family, what about love, what about true friendships? That is what life is about.

Two girls, both with the same name, although spelled different. What would Britney Spears' life be like if she was just Brittany? Would she have gone to college? Would she have a happy and successful life? Would she be happily married with children? I think yes Britney Spears would be happy if she was just Brittany. I think when it comes down to it she would be very happy. I think Britney Spears just wants what the rest of us have. A loving family and true friends.

Britney Spears Hospitalized

Spears was reportedly showing signs of being agitated and erratic behavior as if under the influence of some controlled substance. Kevin Federline claims she would not hand over the children when he came to pick them up and he called the police. Six police cars as well as the ambulance arrived at Spears' home to mediate the situation. After they talked Britney into giving the children back to Kevin they took her to the hospital for tests including a psychological evaluation. Footage of Britney Spears being hauled off into the ambulance smiling as photographers took snap shots of her meltdown seem almost savage.

Has Brit really lost her marbles or is she just a human being in need of help? Many people have an opinion when it comes to Britney Spears, but if we really care, why doesn't anyone reach out to help her? I know if one of her fans could they would. Yet, what does this say about today's society when we see someone falling and instead of catching them we simply move out of the way and watch them fall. Britney Spears is not just a celebrity or a pop star. She is a woman who is having a hard time dealing with life.

How many of us have been where Britney Spears is now? Lost, afraid, and drowning in our own emotions and personal hell. What human being can say they have never felt like a failure or extremely alone? What girl can say she has never felt fat and judged? What woman can ever say a man has never broken her heart? What mother has never felt overwhelmed? What human being isn't flawed? We all are Britney Spears. Every single woman on the planet is one bad relationship from the psych ward. We all eventually fall from grace. No one is perfect. Britney Spears has not lost her mind. She has just lost her way.

Everyone uses a crutch to deal with difficult times. There are various crutches we use to deal with things. Some people turn to alcohol or drugs to cope with painful emotions, unhappiness, regret, loneliness, and trials similar to Britney Spears. Others turn to food, sex, or some other form of a quick fix.We all need something to grasp tightly to when it seems impossible for us to stay strong ourselves. The most positive crutches is faith, family, and friends. When any of the three is part of the problem most of us turn to the quicker fixes in life. What is your crutch? What do you do when the sky seems to be falling down on you?

The downward spiral of Britney Spears is a path anyone could have taken given the circumstances. Britney Spears lost herself on her journey to finding herself. She married the wrong guy for the wrong reasons. You should never get married because you're lonely and don't want to be alone. Spears had children too soon and also for the wrong reasons. You should never have a baby to keep a man. She blamed her mother for screwed up life. I don't know anyone who has never felt like their parents went wrong somewhere in raising them and now they're the one paying the price. It's a common emotion. Part of maturity is the ability to let things go and forgive. You have to accept the way things are and move on. Most people feel like a failure after a relationship has ended.

Give yourself time to mourn the loss and heal. Dealing with divorce and balancing being a single mother can be hard to do. You have to be consistent and keep at it. Kevin Federline has been dating Paris Hilton for the past few days while Britney had the children. Seeing your ex-husband date one of your so-called friends can be hurtful. Who can blame her for getting upset? Her mental meltdown Friday and hospitalization is going to be the beginning of the end for Britney Spears or the beginning of a new beginning. I'm hoping for the latter. I think we all can take a lesson from Britney Spears about life and what not to do. I think we should all examine ourselves and how we deal with others. For at any moment we too can fall from grace.

Britney Spears Recent News

The past few months there seems to be an article almost every week about the pop singer Britney Spears. From driving through a red light with her kids in the car to losing custody of her kids to a bad lip sync performance at the MTV music awards and the list could go on.

What is the big deal? She has made mistakes but is it acceptable for the paparazzi to swarm her wherever she goes and get in her face or even surround her car so she can not drive away or even move? It is not right and she should be allowed some space when she goes out in public.

At the MTV music awards she was criticized about her performance and yes it could have been better but there was no reason for critics to make a big deal about her body and weight because that is not making the right impression on young girls and women who hear critics saying she is fat or overweight because she did not look overweight at all.

As for her driving through a red light and into a busy intersection with her kids on the car, that is wrong and action should have been taken against her.

Hollywood's Bad Girls

Hollywood thrives on press, good or bad. They love it, want it, and they create it. Like the old saying goes, "bad press is better than no press at all", and Hollywood's bad girls know how to use it to their advantage.

Who feels bad for Hollywood's bad girls? Not me, and you shouldn't either. Everyone has a choice of which side of the employment fence they are going to sit on.

Life is antonymous, without the bad there would be no good and vise versa. The truth is we all know that without Hollywood's bad girls, life just wouldn't be as interesting. There would be no reason to fight the good fight anymore because there would be nothing for us to fight against.

I'm appalled by some of Hollywood's bad girls and their actions, from Britney Spears flashing us her crotch in the media to Paris Hilton's sex tape, "A night in Paris".

Could the real culprits here be the parents of these young girls? Even Lindsay Lohan's mother wants to be a star herself, encouraging her daughter to party with her so she can get "press".

Hollywood needs parenting classes, that's for sure. But, even I like a good gossip story once in a while. Besides, it just makes us like the good girls all the more.

Why Scandal Seems to Follow Britney Spears

Why does scandal seem to follow the former teen star, Britney Spears? Unfortunately, it's true that common sense and good judgment don't always coincide with fame and fortune. Did Britney get her celebrity start too early in life? Certainly many other childhood actors have fallen victim to run ins and encounters with the law as well as substance abuse problems. As it turns out, the young musical starlet Britney Spears is no exception to scandal and encounters with the authorities.

The unfortunate truth is that money can't buy intelligence or the ability to express good judgment. It would certainly be to Britney's advantage if she could use some of her significant stores of money to purchase a little bit of good, old fashioned wisdom. If so, she may have made the very sage decision to have her derelict ex-husband sign a prenuptial agreement which may have saved some of her not insignificant fortunes. Better yet, she could have made a wiser choice in spouse. Add to this the fact that she produced offspring with him and you can see that Britney Spear's lapses in judgment probably account for one of the reasons scandal seems to follow her.

Maybe the pop vixen should be congratulated that she has yet to land herself in jail as have many of her comrades including Paris Hilton. It's not surprising that the two celebrities hung out with one another for a brief period of time and likely compared notes on their philosophies on life and how it should be conducted.

The question remains can the famous child star ever get control of her life and avoid the lapses in judgment that have made so many problems for her? The even bigger question emerges. Can she ever have a meaningful career again? All eyes will be on this intriguing pop star, including the paparazzi as she attempts to once again establish her place in the musical world.

Many would argue that Britney Spear's lack of talent may limit her future as a viable entertainer. One thing's for sure, no one can doubt that she does attract an enormous amount of interest and attention, at least from the sizeable number of people that read the tabloids and this may be enough to hold most people's interest.

One thing is for sure, we'll be watching the troubled pop star closely to see what future scandals and triumphs await Britney Spears.

Britney 3rd Trip To Rehab-oops She Did It Again

Celebrity Web sites reported that Britney Spears returned late on Wednesday promising rehabilitation, which she had taken off earlier that day after barely 12 hours of treatment.

Britney's' spokesperson did not return any calls for comment on the reports, which followed a turbulent week that has seen one of the world's best-known pop stars in and out of rehab three times and shaving her own head.

The Web site of syndicated TV show Extra said there was video showing her driving through the gates of the luxury Promises center with her mother.

Other reports said Spears returned after seeking a meeting with Federline on Wednesday but being denied entry to the house where he is staying with their children, Jayden James, 5 months old, and Sean Preston, 17 months old.

Spears filed for divorce in November after two years of marriage and both she and Federline are seeking custody.

Several reports said Spears returned for a full 30-45 days of treatment after Federline gave her a last chance to get help or risk losing custody of the children.
