Gwen Stefani and her husband Gavin Rossdale just had a baby boy. You won't believe the name they gave him. They named him Zuma Nesta Rock. She named him after a video game. I know she liked the video game, but he's the one who has to live with the name. I shouldn't be surprised since they named their first son Kingston.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban recently had a baby girl. They named her Sunday Rose. She wasn't even born on a Sunday so I don't see the sense in naming her Sunday.

Ingo Rademacher

Ingo Rademacher and his wife had a baby boy. They named him Peanut Kai. I've heard of Peanut as a nickname, but never as a first name.

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren recently had a baby girl. They named her Honor. When I think of the word honor, I would never imagine it being someone's first name.

Stevie Wonder and Kai Morris

Stevie Wonder and his wife Kai Morris had a baby boy that they named Mandla Kadjaly. I don't know if it has a special meaning, but it sounds crazy to me.

Joshua Morrow

Joshua Morrow and his wife named their younger son Crew James. Why torture this child with a name like Crew when the older son has a name like Cooper?

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin named their daughter Apple. Was she eating a lot of apples when she came up with that name?

Donovan and Linda Lawrence

Donovan and Linda Lawrence named their daughters Astrella Celeste and Oriole Nebula. Astrella could always change her name to Celeste, but what is Oriole going to do? Her middle name is no better than her first.

Shannyn Sossman named her child Audio Science. This has got to be one of the worst names on this particular list. Imagine growing up with a name like Audio Science.

Bob Geldof

Bob Geldof has daughters named Fifi Trixiebell, Peaches, and Pixie. Those poor girls. No wonder Peaches married a man she knew for one month. He was probably the only man she knew who didn't make fun of her name.

Acknowledged worldwide by scientists and psychologists, Celebrity Worship Syndrome is a real mental disorder, describing a person with an obsession with a celebrity. Why has our society come to the point where we have a mental disorder for people that idolize another person so deeply it becomes an obsession?

“Generally, people are attracted to celebrities' lives. They're better looking than us, have more money than us; it's a way of looking at everything you want and wish for,” says Sabrina Jalees, a stand-up comedian and Toronto Star columnist.

Since celebrity gossip is so widely in demand, major television networks have begun to dedicate more coverage to celebrities, consequently cutting down coverage on real world events. Should Britney Spears' car accidents trump discussing important world issues? “It just comes down to what the viewers want,” says Jalees.

Today's society feels they have the right to intrude into and criticize another human beings' life. We admire, idolize and worship them, but when it comes down to it, would never want to be in their position. “There's a homeless man looking at a billboard going, man I'm glad to be living in this box!” jokes Jalees.

But it really isn't a joking matter- “We're looking at literally anorexic girls in bikinis, that can really damage a young girl's perspective,” says Jalees. It's clearly an issue in our society that needs to be acknowledged- but is celebrity obsession an issue that we can do anything about?

One way that we can shine light onto the situation is by making fun of it. “I'd like to draw attention to the ridiculousness of it,” says Jalees- who often appears on celebrity-bashing shows that air on MuchMusic.

Another way to provoke positive change out of celebrity worship is to present the public with idols that care about real world issues. Having the power to inspire young watchers, celebrities that participate in campaigns fighting HIV/AIDS or poverty for example, should be the ones making the news.

Having “Celebrity Worship Syndrome” may not be the worst fixation, as long as you can separate what actions to mimic and which ones to laugh at.

According to reports, the "new" Britney is all down to the watchful eye of her father. Jamie Spears is a former alcoholic and if he wasn't a positive influence over his daughter in her younger days,he certainly is now. After Britney's psychotic breakdown, Jamie took full control of her life, putting an end to the all night drug and booze benders, the erratic drive time cruises and keeping the "bad company" at a distance ( a restraining order is on her manager and she has supervised visits with her rumoured boyfriend, British photographer, Adnan Ghalib. This "tough love" regime has kept the pop princess away from trouble and negativity she was surrounded in, and although she hasn't regained custody of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, she has won more visitation rights. Britney is also reported to be teaching children to dance at a Hollywood dance school.

I'm no big Britney fan, but watching a young girl, America's Pop Princess publicly self- destruct wasn't easy on the eye and it's nice to see her making progress in getting her life back together again. Whilst the media and public eagerly await her next studio comeback, I'm just happy to see her on the road to recovery. Her sons need a healthy and stable mother more than the fans need her music, but with her father guiding her it's possible she can do both.

Sarah Jessica Parker who came out in order to help promote her recently released film Sex and the City, wore a grayish black dress. It was so tight that I am surprised she didn't bust out of it. With her legs separated in many photos you can see right through the short skintight dress. She wore white high heel boots that simply didn't match with the dress. They were two completely different styles. She walked awkwardly in the boots and in the dress. Very poor choice.

Rumer Willis (daughter of Bruce and Demi) showed up in everything black. Her hair was dyed black and it matched the dress and shoes she was wearing. It was a boring dress that brought her pale skin even more. It was something you wouldn't wear to an MTV award show.

Jennifer Hudson wore a white form fitting dress with a pink belt and a pink halter showing out from the white top of the dress. It was a nice dress that you could wear out on a lesser known occasion. She looked very elegant yet when she stood next to tiny, frail Sarah Jessica it looked as though Jennifer suddenly became a monstrosity. She appeared bigger since the dress was white; she was on television, and then standing next to someone that is as big as a wafer made Jennifer look tremendous.

Charlize Theron is a beautiful woman who showed off how thin she really is in one weird yet superhero type of outfit. In fact the tan colored top was really too low and emphasized her small breast size when it was actually supposed to enhance them. Her stiletto shoes were awful with the front lining and four straps to buckle. It all looked a bit odd.

Lindsay Lohan wore a purple bluish strapless mini dress that was enhanced with a black belt. This folded up dress could have made a statement but it was entirely too short for her pale legs.

Paris Hilton came in a short black and white dress. The black consisted of lace and paisley pattern while the white remained plain. It was elegant and simple. For once she wasn't over the top. The only problem was her boney feet that were very evident in her black high heeled shoes.

20. Jennifer Love Hewitt

Disagree: I can see her being put on the list but I don't see her being at number 20. She can be irritating when she continues to try to act cuuuuute.

19. Britney Spears

Agree: I am not surprised Britney made the top 20. She can be a hot tamale when she wants to be.

18. Ashlee Simpson

Disagree: Totally disagree with this one. I don't know how she even made the list. Her sister Jessica was put at 53 which makes no sense. In comparison, Jessica eludes sexiness while Ashlee seems to still be growing up.

17. The Pussycat Dolls

Disagree: I didn't know that all of them could count for one, but whatever.

16. Megan Fox

Agree: She is probably best known for her role in Transformers. She is really too thin but she has the classic combination of beauty with greenish blue eyes and dark hair. She was number 18 last year.

15. Rihanna

Agree: She is a beautiful woman and deserves to make it in the top 20.

14. Beyonce

Disagree: She is really becoming more annoying than anything else. She should be much lower than top 20

13. Hayden Panettiere

Disagree: I have to admit I cannot stand this girl. She came to fame on the television show Heroes and she has one of the worst personalities in Hollywood. She reminds of the girl in high school that thinks she is better than everyone else when she isn't even close.

12. Vanessa Hudgens

Disagree: She is a young girl that is still growing up. Should she really be put on this list? She is famous from the High School Musical and is releasing her debut album. She doesn't need to be placed on this list.

11. Charlize Theron

Agree: She is rail thin but she has a beautiful face and personality that makes you like her.

10. Ashley Tisdale

Disagree: She is another girl from the High School Musical. She is very ordinary and doesn't offer the sexiness Maxim is supposed to be looking for. Plus she is still a teenager.

9. Lindsay Lohan

Disagree: She made the number one spot last year. I guess they felt generous? I would have had her placed in the top 10 last year and in the top 50 this year. She is a mess.

8. Christina Aguilera

Disagree: This girl has been about sex for years and she only landed number 8?

7. Eva Mendes Agree: She is one of the best looking women around in Hollywood. I can see her being in the top 10.

6. Elisha Cuthbert

In the middle on this one: I'm not too familiar with who Elisha so I can't say if I agree or not since I don't know enough about her to have an opinion.

5. Sarah Michelle Gellar

Disagree: I don't see why Sarah was put in the top 10. She could be listed in the 50's but how do they think she should be number 5?

4. Eva Longoria

Agree: Despite how tiny she is, Eva makes sure she is seen in her popular role as the former model in Desperate Housewives. Her personality is very likeable and she has one of the prettiest faces around.

3. Jessica Biel

Agree: She has been around for years appearing on 7th Heaven and has developed a great movie career. She has always been beautiful and I'm glad she if finally being recognized for it.

2. Scarlett Johansson

Disagree: I don't think she should have made the list. She doesn't have a sexy appeal and the men I know find her unappealing.

1. Marissa Miller

Disagree: She a supermodel that may deserve to be in the top 20 or even the top 10, but by no means she should be considered the sexiest woman of the year.

Other great picks would have been better such as Angelina Jolie and Halle Berry. Where were they? Are they considered too old and too pregnant? They elude more sexiness than most of these women combined. I don't think this list is accurate.

Mariah Carey (71), Julianne Hough (30), Drew Barrymore (40), and Cameron Diaz (26) all placed too low. These women deserve to be placed in the top 20 and replace the likings of Johansson, Ashlee, Lohan, Tisdale, The Pussycat Dolls, Beyonce, and Hayden to name a few.

Personally I think there are far more important things going on than whether or not Britney Spears is in a psych ward or whether Hillary Duff and Lindsay Lohan are feuding. Come on people, most anybody with common sense and a pulse has better things to do with their time than to wait for the latest celebrity controversy.

Take your wife and kids out to a family gathering,have a barbecue, but please give the television and celebrity scandal rags a rest. If people would spend more time focusing on what's really important and less time on the trivial, then life would be far more productive and fulfilling.

I personally think that celebrities deserve the same rights we as private citizens have.

To the tabloids who have a field day with celebrity scandal, I just want to say quit wasting our trees printing rags that are only useful as bird cage liners. I am sorry if you find my criticisms harsh,

but if your going to be a reporter there is plenty of real news going on.

There are some celebs that do things just for the controversy,

If the media would quit running for their cameras everytime a celeb sneezes, then maybe more of the real news would get reported.

As it stands, in many cases I notice that the real news all to often takes a backseat because

so many media outlets are too busy trying to "get an exclusive" with Britney Spears

or whatever celeb to find out why their hair is green

.(That example is used in sarcasm, and only to make the point that sometimes the reasons celebrities get bombarded by reporters is kind of ridiculous.) Reporters need to start informing people of news that is worthwhile,credible, and relevant.

How long until Miley gets impregnated, drunk or goes to rehab? Perhaps she'll have a Vegas wedding with two or more of the Jonas Brothers.

Now for an easily titillated mind such as mine, I found the overlap between all of Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie's relationships a pretty interesting read, as well as dumped high school sweethearts of now mega famous stars, supposedly upgraded to glossy Hollywood counterparts which never lasted as long, new relationships which seemed to be punctuated by fights, cheating and "scandal." OK so Wikipedia wasn't that forthcoming with information, this was just my heavily embellished interpretation as gauged from "so and so divorced so and so to date so and so and so who cheated with…Paris Hilton. Too much time on my hands? Moi?

Feeling my brain begin to shrink to the size of a pea, I decided to have a look at the so called Hollywood Legends of the ages, expecting them to be more tame and restrained, in view of the social expectations and traditions of the time. How wrong was I! The goings on of some of these girls made the love triangles of our IT girls seem like playground antics. Who cares about Paris, Lindsay and err Paris, when we have Lana Turner, her five husbands, countless lovers and life motto of "I liked the boys and the boys liked me.' Her involvement with a good looking mobster, who became possessive to the point of obsessive and in a scandal which almost ruined her career was stabbed by her 14 year old daughter reads like Jackie Collins at her finest.

Then there was Ingrid Bergman, the natural Swedish beauty forced into exile in Europe and denounced as "evil" in the US Senate after having an extra marital affair with Italian director Roberto Rossellini which produced an ahem extra marital son! Yet she managed to salvage her career as Lana Turner did, due in no small part to her intelligence (she spoke 5 languages fluently) and intuitive nature the like of which would scant be seen today. (Without a high powered PR machine to generate the right publicity to get them out of the red!)

Forget union jack dresses, paternity battles, shaved heads and no knickers, to find girl power minus platforms (or any traces of make up whatsoever!) there was Katharine Hepburn, who personified girl power at its most outspoken, its most liberated and perhaps its most arrogant. Not only did she win 5 Oscars and nominated for 12, (a record beaten only by Meryl Streep with 14 nominations) and nicknamed Katherine of Arrogance, "Kate" had the kind of outspoken wit which is notably absent from the majority of high profile celebrities of today known more as being famous for the sake of it or of being outrageous to stay in the public eye and maintain public interest.

These days there seems to be nothing worse than fading into the periphery and out of our magazines. That's not to say there aren't many beautiful, intelligent actresses around today, it just seems that many of their achievements are overshadowed by those celebs who dominate the front of our tabloids for all the wrong reasons and who lack the subtleties the older generation had to keep the public guessing, Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, Sophia Loren and Carey Grant are examples of these "were they weren't they' intrigues.

In a way, a lot of our modern celebrities represent a watered down version of our first film stars, lacking the fearless determination, drive and even the passionate love affairs of their predecessors. Which all in all, doesn't make for half so entertaining reading of Wikipedia on boring afternoons in the office.

Paparazzi should be banned for taking pictures of celebrities or other types of famous people and selling the pictures for money or putting them on the news paper with out asking. Pictures are being set on the internet that can be inappropriate, and children might accidentally see them. This can lead the children to a future that they thought they would never have. Not only can paparazzi effect the lives of children and the public, but it effects the lives of the celebrities as well. Several of the pictures that the paparazzi take are used in magazines and the news to display a faulty image of the celebrity. The spreading of faulty news is known as gossip.

Imagine if you were a person with paparazzi and you had him following you around snapping pictures of you constantly. Wouldn't that be annoying to you? You would never be able to do any of the normal things, such as go to the mall with friends or out to dinner and a movie, with out the constant flashing of a camera and several annoying paparazzi around you. You would never have privacy.

More and more people are becoming paparazzi as more people come famous. The amount of money that paparazzi are reviving for their pictures are increasing more and more each day, which only encourages them to take more and more pictures.

Princess P's best friend, Nicole Richey, who is also famous for having a famous father, Lionel Richey just gave birth to a beautiful baby with boyfriend Joel Madden. When Richey became pregnant, Paris wanted to get pregnant as well. Who has a baby because her on again, off again friend does? I guess she hated the fact that the spotlight was on someone else for a change.

Although she dresses trashy and she can be seen in an x-rated video, Hilton claims to not be a slut. During an interview with Regis and Kelly, she states "One-night stands are not for me. I think it's gross when you just give it up. Guys want you more, if you don't just hand it to them on a platter."

What are some of Paris' other accomplishments? A bad driving record, bad movies, bad relationships, and being voted 2007 Guiness Book of World Records “Most Over-rated Celebrity”. She is the author of Confessions of an Heiress and Your Heiress Diary. I would personally rather poke my eyeballs out with an inkpen than read those books. Its funny that the only thing she knows enough to write a book about is being an heiress. Simply put, Paris is famous for being famous.
