Are We Aware Some Organic Products Can Land Us in Jail

In Canada there is a couple who are in Jail, their crime: using organic products.

Sounds far fetched well you check it out, Canada has lost the plot.

Nadine Artemis and her partner Ron Obadia were arrested when some organic products that they had contained narcotic substances. These were not substances that they included in their products but substances that in trace amounts are in many organic products. The couple have been separated from their baby, and to date face a $20,000 legal bill so far.

It seems that their arrest all hinges on the testing devices used by federal agents, these devices cannot determine if the substance is a narcotic or a by-product in the production of things like soap etc.

For Nadine and Ron going organic has led them down a path that smacks of serious issues in Canada against the rights of civil liberties.

Place yourself in their situation, you are on route to Canada, you cross the border and find yourself arrested for possession of drugs, the items shown are branded products that contain narcotic traces. In Canada you are going down.

I suppose it falls into the way of life that Canada enjoys, baby seal beating to death, the legality of hanging your washing out in the open, you know some things fall into two pitches, funny, or frightening; I think Canada has slipped into a terrible hole that will sadly kick back right in its face with a huge public response.

Canada, leave Nadine and Ron alone, give them back their baby and sort your drug busting equipment out, you may love your image of 'the Mountie always gets his man', but you are the sick society of the world if you call it justice. Why don't you chill out and go organic, like a decent mouth wash for your federal boys who gave Nadine and Ron a hard time.

The Ramifications of the Legalization of Marijuana

Marijuana is officially legalized in the United States. The process was full of senators and ministers on both sides chiding and touting the merits of the American government, and the morals of the American people. Comedians have accumulated over a year’s worth of material, among them some of the most poignant monologues about that subject of drug use that have ever been uttered. And some off-color jokes about Presidents Clinton and Bush and Obama. Finally, the measure is approved by the House and the Senate, and at midnight on an historic day in history, the first joint is legally lit on national television. The most obvious change is that the people whom have always been known to be pot heads are now totally unabashed. Its use is still limited on television and radio by the FCC, citing unwitting children in the audience. Weed is smoked live in a Broadway play, and by avant garde bands on cable music channels. So on and so on.

But there is not one drug dealer celebrating. Overnight, they have gone from entrepreneurs on the legal fringes to small business owners. They find out quickly that the I.R.S. is more motivated and relentless than the fuzz ever was. Auditors are pounding on the doors of major drug dealers all over the country, having requisitioned a listing from police forces in every state. Tax evasion, after all, merits an arrest warrant. Few if any of them answer. There is, at best, some extreme awkwardness. At most, all out violence. Luckily, in the scenario relevant to this paper, the auditors are accompanied by a police escort and no one is injured.

The major results of what the media dubs “The Great American Weed Audit” is that, with the increased scrutiny placed on them, all of the nation’s major drug dealers are jailed for their distribution of other, still illegal, drugs. Minor drug dealers go out of business due to their having to ramp up prices as a result their supply being severed. Less and less goes for more and more. Think Prohibition circa 1920. Like Prohibition, only select dealers are growing weed on a large scale, and they only sell to those who can afford to buy. Minor dealers, eighth graders in the hallways at their school, are reduced to passing resin off as a dime of quality hydro. America’s youth is reluctantly sobered. America’s wealthy are openly stoned. And the marijuana infrastructure of the nation is nationalized.

This last shock is really no shock at all. One thing the I.R.S. delights in doing is seizing the assets of business that don’t pay back taxes. The great farms in Louisiana, Colorado, California and the Mojave Desert all become government property. All become economic cash cows. They produce jobs, and dramatically shift the landscape of Wall Street. The new agricultural market in America booms. Dime bags sell for cheap over the counter at Walgreen’s, so the last of the underground dealers, relics of a bygone Era, are put out of business.

Thus, weed becomes another national product, every bit as legal and controversial as cigarettes. M.A.S.D. (Mothers Against Stoned Driving) opens chapters all over the mid-west. The MGU (Marijuana Grower’s Union) becomes a major political force. Hugh Hefner switches his trademarked cigar for a righteous fatty. The world turns on. This is not viewed as the legacy of President Obama, let alone the United States. Only a social mile marker, for better or worse, and an economic life raft.

One Nation?

It has come to the attention of a few of us Americans that the powers that be would like…and in fact are trying, to turn the North American Continent into one huge nation.

Apparently they have the new money all printed up and everything but lets just toy with this idea, for a moment or two, as if it were truly hypothetical and not a realistic fact. What would that mean EXACTLY?

What would that mean for us as Americans? What would happen to our wounded constitution should they annex the US into The North American Union? What would happen to our time honored laws, freedoms and economy? The Social Security fund is already bled dry in the US. US citizens are already left with no recourse but to purchase their own health and dental insurance or go without. Forty-eight million Americans are currently without health insurance because it's more cost effective for business owners to hire Mexicans, who are willing to work for practically nothing, hire students part time, at a reduced wage, and totally sidestep the benefits package in order to line their own coffers.

The US government has now okayed the seven hundred BILLION dollar buy out over Fanny Mae and other bank holdings to whose detriment? Well who do you think is going to toss the golden coins into that pot? The same people who have been financially supporting every unethical war the combined Bush boys have started, the same people who have unwittingly financed the Communistic movement around the globe for decades and are even now financing about 85% of abortions! WE THE PEOPLE!!! That's who!!! The unsuspecting tax payers get to purchase their own demise! They will take our taxes to build their mansions and then toss us to the wolves when we can't afford to pay our own bills! Indeed we may say the USA has become, and is in fact…the new ROME.

They work to establish one planet under their own rule…one government, one religion and there are those who say….”Well that will never happen! The people will not allow it!” Uh huh…how effective were the people when it came crunch time on gas prices? Fifty years ago, if we had told people that the government would jack gas prices up to over four dollars a gallon they would have responded EXACTY the same way and every bit as vehemently and yet here we are…gas prices so high we can't see the light of day beyond them!

And I'll just bet you there aint no “IN GOD WE TRUST” on that new money! If they dissolve the US…nothing that was once connected with the United States will be valid. The National Anthem, the Pledge Of Allegiance, the currency, the laws and correlating freedoms. And what of those who refuse to pledge allegiance to the new Gods of the land eh? What happens to them? They just have no country? They become traitors, enemies of the state, slaves, prisoners or worse? Dick Cheney didn't oversee the construction of those concentration camps for family vacatio0ns trips I can tell you that much! 200,000 people per camp! Someone has plans for slave camps and bondage!!!

This election scares me right to death because no matter who holds office today or tomorrow…the people are in far bigger trouble than they are even willing to realize. Please……please get out of debt. Please don't allow yourselves to be duped by propaganda and media trash. It's all a bunch of lies and half truths, orchestrated primarily to seduce, confuse and mislead the American people. Please….Please wake up and open your eyes to what's really going on around us.

While the American people were totally mesmerized by the whole Monica Lewinski/Clinton fiasco….our futures were being decided without our knowledge or consent, at the UN Summit Conferences in Turkey. Hillary Clinton and her skanky Women's Caucus were there spitting on people, shouting profanities and pushing abortion laws, laws on family, daycare, household incomes and the list goes on. Thanks to them we no longer have freedom to our children…our babies actually belong to the government, to do with as they see fit, at almost any given time. People who do not support abortion are the ones who get tossed into the can for speaking out. So much for the Freedom of Speech eh?

A minute portion of the population are the ones who abhor God in our schools, God on our currency and God in our assemblies and yet we are forced to cater to those small people, who make up less than a 20 percentile of our national body. It's a magic trick on a very large scale. It's their intention to keep your attention on the one hand, while the other hand is altering your lives and lifestyles forever.

They have passed laws through the Supreme Court, that most people never even know exist, until a situation arises, which directly places them beneath the scrutiny of that specific amendment. We are a Communist Country and have been for decades…they just have had us so preoccupied with food, sex, drugs, alcohol and entertainment, we've been too damn stupefied to realize it!!! Sadly…the truth is…most people don't seem to care. As long as they can have their porn, drugs and alcohol and idols…they don't really give a fig what the government is doing with their lives and freedoms. Some care when it comes to their hard earned tax dollars but feel helpless to exact real change.

Please…please don't just lay down and allow the government to roll over the top of you…of us. Please…please stand up and take note and refuse to just accept every new law…every lost freedom, no matter how small it may seem. Just the seatbelt law is actually a huge infringement on our own rights to choose.

Please open your eyes and again declare, “Give me liberty or give me death!!!” Benjamin Franklin once said, “Any man who sacrifices even the least freedom for a degree of security is deserving of neither one.” Please…please remember this is supposed to be the land of the free and the brave…not the stupefied and depraved. Please remember liberty, integrity, honesty, virtue and benevolence when you make your choice to vote. Not that there is anyone to vote for, who truly encompasses, let alone embraces, any of these attributes but in the days to come…remember that this is who we are supposed to be and it's these qualities that will save us from the beast, by the hand of God, in the end.

To Drink or Not to Drink is the Real Question

Yesterday within an hour of the court passing a guilty verdict on Michael Schmidt, he and a number of his supporters were drinking a toast to each other, glasses filled with naught but the culpable white substance - raw milk. Unpasteurized milk is illegal in Canada, although the law makes exception to farmers. Schmidt, a dairy farmer in Durham, fights a "contempt of court" charge for allegedly distributing unpasteurized milk in York region'. The government has been fighting with Schmidt for almost two years now. In December 2006 the Health Department issued an injunction against the farmer. May 2007 the Ontario Superior Court of Justice served him with another order to enforce the previous injunction. Schmidt claims that he will pay any cost, even jail time to continue his operation, because the government has no right to tell people what they can or cannot eat, or as in this case, drink. He further declares that he is not “selling” the illegal milk, rather he is paid by the participants in his “cow-share program” to take care of their cows. The prosecution questions Shirley Ann Wood, one such “cow shareholder” on the witness stand. Romance evident in her voice, she said, “I visit Anna (the cow of which she is part owner) pet her, make her bed and take some of her milk, if I want.” The Schmidt operation currently has about one hundred and fifty share holders with three hundred cows between them. About thirty of whom showed up at courthouse donned in t-shirts emblazoned with the message: “Freedom of Choice”. They claim that the "real" milk has health benefits over its supermarket bought, water-down, nutrient-deficient counterpart; and besides, it's their personal right to drink whatever milk they see fit. On the other hand, Dan Kuzmyk, lawyer for the region "warns that raw milk can contain dangerous pathogens such as Salmonella, E-coli, and Listeria monocytogenes". Needless to say, the health department considers unpasteurized milk a serious health hazard.

Megan Ogilvie - Staff Health Reporter of the Toronto Star - reports on September 10th and 11th , and tries to give an unbiased story. In the September 11th account she describes Schmidt business as an “organic farm”. Organic products are getting good reviews these days, so that is favorable to the farmer. However, she points out that Kuzmyk presented evidence of numerous bacterial outbreaks, including Listeriosis in Quebec, which killed one person from cheese made with raw milk. She duly represents both the cow shareholders and the government, without passing judgment. On September 12th, the Canadian Press reports that Schmidt who operates his farm in Owen Sound, was confident that the charges were unfounded, so he dismissed his scheduled witnesses. He said, “no test has been conducted to verify that the milk in question is raw”. However, we now know that with all his self-assurance, he was found guilty, at least for contempt of court. He has not yet being tried for the actual farm operation.

I found this milk story somewhat amusing, because the government has seen it fit to spend tax-payers money on trying to stop folks from drinking milk from personally owned cows. I remember as a child my family got our milk directly from the farmer, who came around every morning with a fresh supply of natural milk. We heated and enjoyed the good a healthy “whites”. The current underground name for the illegal liquid. Imagine! Milk is being treated as street drugs. According to my ancestors, if fully boiled, milk loses its health value. Times have changed drastically though, and maybe with all the pesticides and chemical fertilizers being used today, the health officials do have a point, thanks to Louis Pasteur, the scientist credited with the pasteurizing process. However, there is an inherent contradiction: If farmers are exempted from the milk laws, then surely the cow shareholders are a type of farmer, of sorts. In the very least, they are cow owners. How can you stop a man from drinking milk from his own cow? Modern science have proven that my fore-parents were right, the overheating (pasteurizing) of milk destroys vital nutrients (such as cysteine) that's the reason for the (re) adding of vitamins. In all consumable foods, I realize that there is a necessity to ensure safety. However, upholding the Milk Board, with its current laws, has more to do with the government making its cut from milk production, than maintaining citizens' health. I agree that the health department has a responsibility to ensure that commercialized foods are fit for human consumption. Therefore, as long as Michael Schmidt and his cow-share holders do not commercialize their (real) products, let them drink their milk to their hearts' content. As they have duly established, it is their right. What if they get sick? Then we do the same thing as with people who contract HIV/AIDS from depraved practices - we do our best to treat them with what medicine is available, regardless of the cost - because we are still human beings. And if someone dies, as in the Quebec case? I am certain that it will force officials, farmers and cow owners alike, to take the necessary precaution to make certain their milk is safe. Nobody ever died from unpasteurized milk when I was child in Jamaica.

Child Kidnapped by Drug Cartel Found Safe

Hello Dear readers, I have been following a story in California about an abducted six year old child. According to my sources his kidnapping was drug related. Thankfully he was found alive, and he is back at home. Though I heard about the story on a California news station, he was actually found a few miles from the Las Vegas strip.

It is believed that certain family members of the child were involved with a drug cartel. His grandfather was arrested and according to my source he owed millions to the cartel. I am keeping up with this story so dear readers I will keep you all updated on developments in this case.

The child, Cole Puffinburger was kidnapped on October 15, 2008 from his home. His kidnappers are still at large and it is believed his kidnappers were police impersonators. His father has been all over the news searching for Cole,it paid off in a big way. It is not every day that a kidnapping victim is found, especially safe and sound. Needless to say his family is grateful to all who searched for the boy.

I want to send my congratulations to Cole Puffinburger's family for the happy reunion.

God Bless you all

Suicide Party?

Courtney Love is allowing her daughter to throw some sort of party and promoting it as a suicide party. Isn't that just a great way to honor Kirk? His only daughter and this is how she wants to publicly remember her father. I don't know but it seems awfully disrespectful to me. He is probably shaking his head in disbelief right now.

I think the fans have more respect for him than that. oh, and what about Courtney getting cussed out by Sharon Osbourn for giving her son jack Oxycontin? I hope after that crazy appearance on the television show where Courtney Love displayed her vulgar behavior, rehab does her good. She was clearly on drugs!!!

The More Things Change - The More They Stay the Same

My husband and I have been married for 23 years. His profession then and now is driving tractor trailer. Shortly after our marriage, he taught me how to drive "big" truck so we could be a team. Over the next 13 years we worked driving truck across country delivering a variety of goods from one side of the country to the other.

We saw the best of the country and the worst of the country. From our vantage point of being above the crowd, we saw people in cars engaged in activities that even today make me shake my head either in awe or incredulousness at their antics.

In the late 80’s and early 90’s it wasn’t cell phones, texting or laptops that people did while driving. It was drinking…party vans going to ball games, drugs…we all know what was big during the disco years, reading…novels, newspapers, reports for the boss, and then there was people engaged in freeway sex…we won’t go there.

I have been off the “big” road for 10 years. Some things have changed for the better. Drivers no longer carry briefcases of “uppers” that they got from a buddy that worked for a pharmaceutical company, or other vices that weren’t good for us or for the industry. These days the younger drivers don’t look out for their fellow truckers like we did “back in the day”. That was before you had to worry about getting robbed, stabbed, or shot for stopping out of concern for someone broke down along a empty stretch of highway. But the antics of people in cars have degraded in ways we never dreamed of ten years ago.

Sure there are still people out there having freeway sex...like they are the first ones to ever come up with the idea. But now we have smart phones the size of a cigarette pack, and laptops that can access the internet anywhere. We can surf the "Net", text, email and fax. Who needs an office when you can just ride around in your car and do all the things you do at your desk?

Just the other day one man in a Jeep almost caused 4 separate accidents, because he was so involved with what was happening with one of his electronic toys that he became a hazard to himself and everyone else travelling on the same road. When he finally got his vehicle back under control, he waved out the window as if to say, “Sorry I almost caused 4 loaded tractor-trailers and half a dozen cars to wreck.”

So the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Juvenile Offenders: Treat Them as Adults

When are people going to say enough is enough? When are 'we' going to change the laws? When are "we" going to insist that these so called juveniles be prosecuted as adults? It is really sad when you can't be in your own home and be safe.

It is time we fight back the legal way. It is time that names start appearing in the papers and on the news. It is timethese "juveniles" are no longer considered juveniles. You do the crime, your charged with time. "jail time,""Not Children and Youth time."

We as citizens have a right to be safe in our own homes as well as on our streets! Allowing hoodlums, animals or juveniles, which ever you prefer to call them to run free in our streets has got to stop.

To the parents of any juvenile that commits a hideous crime---- If the law states that the names of the juveniles cannot be released in the paper or on the news, then you insist the names be released. "You," yourself, release the names if you have to! I as aparent would not look down on you as aparent for doing this, infact, I would look upon you with respect. Shame on the juvenilenot the parent of the juvenile!"

Any youth that commits a crime should be expect to pay all medical and criminal bills that are caused by their offence, their parents should not have to cover these bills! I realize the juveniles can't pay now because of their age at the time of their crime, but they should be billed as soon as they become of age. Any insurance that pays the bills now should be entitled for full reimbursement later. If this juvenile is in debt for the next ten, fifteen, twentyyears or more when he becomes an adult, "to bad" they brought it all on themselves! They should be responsible for their actions!

Let's stop looking at juvenile criminals as children. If our juveniles want to commit adult crimes, then let's treat them as adults.

We have children killing and or maiming other children, we have children killing their family and friends, Kids are taking guns to school and to the streets, when is it all going to stop? It's not right! It has to stop! Look around folks we need to do something! Years ago such things were unheard of, parents were allowed to make their children mind, life wasn't as fast paced.

It is time for a change and we need to do it soon!

Britney Spears: On the Mend?

Do you have an opinion on the Princess of Pop?

Last year was quite the year in Britney Spear's life. Love her or hate her you can't deny that you were intrigued…or disgusted…as she went further and further into the crazy tunnel. It's a sad day in America when a twenty-something woman shaves her head and it leads the news everywhere!

There are a couple of celebrity sites that I click on during my internet surfing, some of you might be reading them as well: TMZ and X17online. During the height of Britney's nonsense it was hard to pull up these gossip sites without seeing hour by hour updates on Britney's location, who she was with, if she was driving on the right side of the road…it was nuts! At any given minute there was a pack of twenty or so cameramen on her tail, from morning until night. That would be enough to drive anyone bonkers, never mind a celebrity falling from grace.

I'm not sure what moment of hers was the most shocking - when she shaved her head, when she lost custody, the horrible performance at the MTV award show, when the police were called to her house and she was strapped to a gurney and taken away. Sometimes I felt like a giddy gossip-hound as I logged onto my computer to see what level of bizarre she had reached - other times I just felt bad, and wondered how long her family would watch the decline before stepping in. I was waiting for someone to tell her "no!", but it never happened.

Her family did intervene, this past spring, and it seems like good things are starting to happen for her again. She's getting in shape, she has more time with her sons, and she seems to be working on music again. I'm pretty sure the pack of cameramen is still around her, but she gives them much less to work with now. I know a lot of people have an opinion on Britney Spears, but I, for one, hope she finds her way back to her career. How do you feel about Britney? Are you over her antics, or hoping she can change for good?

There's a rumor that she'll be appearing at the MTV awards again this year; if she does perform I have my fingers crossed for her!

Britney Spears: On the Mend and Looking Good

There were photo's published in the media this week (July 21st 2008) of pop star, Britney Spears attending a charity bash, hosted by The Mask star, Jim Carey and his partner, Jenny McCarthy. Sporting a Californian tan and a healthy glow, dressed in a hot black number, stilletos, and the trademark hair extensions, Britney honestly looked like a respectable young lady and a happiness beamed from her eyes. A far cry from the wild and crazy Britney that filled the tabloids earlier this year.

According to reports, the "new" Britney is all down to the watchful eye of her father. Jamie Spears is a former alcoholic and if he wasn't a positive influence over his daughter in her younger days,he certainly is now. After Britney's psychotic breakdown, Jamie took full control of her life, putting an end to the all night drug and booze benders, the erratic drive time cruises and keeping the "bad company" at a distance ( a restraining order is on her manager and she has supervised visits with her rumoured boyfriend, British photographer, Adnan Ghalib. This "tough love" regime has kept the pop princess away from trouble and negativity she was surrounded in, and although she hasn't regained custody of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, she has won more visitation rights. Britney is also reported to be teaching children to dance at a Hollywood dance school.

I'm no big Britney fan, but watching a young girl, America's Pop Princess publicly self- destruct wasn't easy on the eye and it's nice to see her making progress in getting her life back together again. Whilst the media and public eagerly await her next studio comeback, I'm just happy to see her on the road to recovery. Her sons need a healthy and stable mother more than the fans need her music, but with her father guiding her it's possible she can do both.
