God Has a Plan

“Who am I to question God and His ways, His plan? How can I think He doesn’t know what He is doing?” – unknown in Texas

United States Population 300,000,000

A little less than 64% of the voting population voted in the 2008 Election.

Found online at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2008

I am not writing this to complain about who won the election or to put any candidate down. I, for once, agree with my Mother. Don’t drop over Mom; I like a little humor sometimes too. Simply put, “He won, now he has to prove himself.”

I may not agree with our new President’s views or plans, but I know that I trust God’s Plan. I know where I am storing my Faith and Trust and that would be with the only one in power, God.

Knowing that one vote does make a difference and there were a lot of ‘one votes’ left out there to make a difference, I will be sure to be registered to vote in the year 2012, if that is in God’s Plan.

Voting is not something to be taken lightly and if looked at in no other way, for women at least, we should do it to honor the women who fought for our right to vote in the first place. Lucy Burns, Dora Lewis, and Alice Paul were innocent and defenseless; they were jailed and severely beaten, tortured, and starved for picketing the White House, carrying signs asking for the right to vote. So to those of you women who don’t vote, please have a change of heart and go register. It has been our right and privilege since 1920.

So, whether you were registered to vote and didn't think it would matter or if you just failed to register to vote, you should know that your vote is important and your voice needs to be heard. Looking forward to seeing more than 64% of our voting population being registered to vote in 2012.

China: 21st Century Powerhouse

The United States of America has prided itself on being the international leader since the aftermath of World War II. Since the days of the Berlin Airlift and Cold War domination over Russia, we have been flying high with a series of triumphs that rival that of Alexander the Great. However, in the past decade, another nation has risen from the ashes and become a formidable giant in the East. With the sheer enormity of its size and workforce as well as the amount of exporting to the United States alone, it has brought up suggestions that our reign may soon be usurped. It is safe to say that at economic face-value, China is where it's at.

First, we must look at why it rivals the land of the free and the home of the brave. I am not necessarily blaming anyone, but a certain government entered a certain war and decreased taxes (New York Times reported that the Government Accountability Office believes two-thirds of companies don not pay corporate income taxes, which basically means the wealthy aren't parting with much of their wealth) and now we aren't doing so well economically. We actually used to have a surplus, which is now being replaced by a budget deficit of epic proportions in efforts to both fund wars in the Middle East and the Wall Street banking crisis. We're looking at around one trillion dollars here. This concludes the idea that the capitalist utopia is no more. On top of that, we're still searching for more oil. Cue, China.

Iraq has recently begun plans to develop an oil field for China Petroleum National Corp. This means China is now tight with the largest oil reserve and, as the article sates, “The Al-Ahdab oil contract is not expected to generate any revenues for China except the service fees, but still offers an entry into Iraq oil reserves ahead of Western majors.” It also seems that China is trying to forge headway into Venezuela's oil resources, a country that exports around 60% of its oil to the United States. Due to a break in communications that stems from Hugo Chavez's rise to power 1999, China is ready and willing to strike a deal with Venezuela that would bolster the infrastructure of the struggling nation while boosting the wealth of China even further.

As well as trying to overtake significant oil reserves, the country has approximately one trillion dollars invested in US Treasury bonds, essentially binding themselves to the ups and downs of our economy. Now people are asking why their 1.8 trillion dollars accumulated in foreign-exchange reserves isn't being used to help the global economy in general. Officials from both the United States and Europe have repeatedly asked him to stop undervaluing the Yuan and give up their huge trade advantage. While the failing economy of our country raises many concerns for the capital and finances of China, we can only ponder what their next move will be and what it means for the American dollar.

The tenuous relationship forming between China and the United States is only the tip of the iceberg. The infrastructure of China is severely lacking, with the word “peasant” still applying to millions of its people. Capitol Weekly ran an article that uncovered harrowing truths about China, including the lack of indoor plumbing and electric ovens, inability to rise up on the social ladder or even pay the tuition to learn to read. They also pose the question, how can China spend billions on the Beijing Olympics and not the $1,400 college tuition for their citizens? They continue to say that only 11% of college-aged people go on to attend university. It seems like China is composed mainly of poor urbanites and farmers with a small elite at top. The obvious competitive capitalism and informal classes seem to contrast greatly with the typical ideals of communism. Their banning of any controversial books, websites and even iTunes (a recent victim of the Chinese government despite promises to ease up after hosting the Olympics) promotes a government that is more totalitarian than communist.

Censorship is only part of the problem. Not only is sweatshop labor alive and kicking, but there seems to be no end in sight. You probably won't see any changes until you stop seeing “Made in China” on everything or American Apparel ends up dominating the fashion industry entirely. A direct result of these labor facilities is factory pollution. However, are they the only ones to blame? Scientific American has reported that one-third of the pollution from China comes from making exports for the United States. We have to question whether their evident pollution problems, sweatshop labor and general aggressive behavior in regard to their economy stems from American influence.

Americans have to change their perspective as well. The Western hemisphere may look down on a leadership that has its citizens define their lives by strict rules and harsh living standards. There is a growing sense of Chinese nationalism exemplified by the enthusiasm for the “coming out party” that was the Beijing Olympics. Citizens here can say they love their country, and yet there is a division that comes from money, geography, ideology and race. In China there is unity. It is hard to judge another nation when there are flaws in your own.

The big question is: will China become a new global superpower? Truthfully, it is not so easy to say. A US-dependent economy, a deliberately low currency, lack of education, questionable human rights violations and unity are all factors that can be interpreted from both sides. The only thing to be said is that it's China's turn to make a move.

Political Advertisement, Parody

If this article was about me telling you how to vote I should be running for president! Anyone who tells you how to vote should be running as clearly they are willing to infringe rights! Just a thought. I am considering airing the following advertisement on the radio.

Communist leader: Hello North America, how is your day today!

Green party: What are you talking about?

Communist leader: I like to get to know the people!

Green party: That is not the goal of the election! The goal is to lie and get them to vote!

Communist leader: Oh, pardon me then, North Americans I will lower taxes, reduce housing costs and ensure your retirement! I will waste less money on useless things and give it to you!

Green party: There is no way you can do that! That would be the promises we have all made for years! It is about who can talk about doing them best, whoever has the best talk gets the votes! We can't fix those problems or new ones would come in and affect the elections! This way it is simple for us politicians at election time as we can reuse speeches!

Communist leader: That makes sense, so I should leave health care the way it is and just talk about how I COULD fix it! Then I will sound smart and people will vote for me! Meanwhile I can save my speech and use it again for the next FOUR elections! I like the way you think!

Green party: Well yes, see I talk about the environment that way all the hippies join me and vote instead of not voting, that way in 300 years when there are enough hippies I can start to win elections! I will never have to change platforms, never have to debate, never have to have a real plan! It will all come to me!

Communist leader: I like the idea of residual leadership, but how do the people get taken care of? If no improvements are made? How do people keep voting for you?

Green party: It is simple really, we have an inside deal to change things around each time we are in power, that way someone will look bad so they will vote for the other party each time! See we just wait for someone else to make a mistake, such as removing sports from school, going to war, upping carbon tax, screwing single income families, destroying trading relations with up and coming super powers!

Communist leader: Well realistically what if someone comes to power and they don't make amazingly large mistakes like that?

Green party: You are truly foolish! Since our platforms are always almost identical to last time and are mostly lies anyways! We simply spend millions of dollars from the people to libel against the other party, see I try to bend their words to sound bad or I generally tell them how much better I am because last election I promised better health care and he didn't! If that doesn't work I can always search his elementary school records and see if he ever beat anyone up or had any racial slurs accrued on his record!

Communist leader: Okay, I think it makes sense now. You don't have to change you platform because election promises are lies? The MAIN thing though is that if someone looks better then you, you simply make fun of them and degrade them anyway you can? Doesn't that violate human rights, or at the very least the basis of you running for office? If your goal is to be the leader of a continent should you not have the peoples welfare in mind?

Green party: We call people like you extremists, we kill people like you!

Communist leader: I think the government is FOR the people isn't it? If I was in it for the paycheck doesn't that make me a user and abuser of an entire society? Isn't that the very thing you are SUPPOSED to be running for office to avoid?

Green Party: Well when the documents about government were originally draw up it was by fools who didn't see it as an income potential to run the country. They did it simply to help, fools! Now we have fully monetized it so that the leaders make maximum money without actually doing anything other then show others how bad the other parties are!

Communist leader: OK, so you spend the peoples money to lie to them? Your actual JOB is to act like a 3 year old and call someone else a wienie? Your goal is the paycheck? Your job is to make sure nothing improves in a country? To throw money at problems like idiotic banks breaking the law?

You my friend are the luckiest person alive!

NOTE: This article has absolutely no actual relation to either party/leader used as examples! They are simply examples! The Communist leader being displayed as the intelligent human is by random draw and I am in no way supporting either cause! I stand by my comments of politicians acting how they do, anyone over the age of 5 saying, he said she said, should not be running my country! Power to the people, displayed properly through he government, how it is supposed to be!

I will accept all criticism happily!
USA Plays Catch-up - Unsuccessfully

The USA made a brave attempt this year at playing catch-up with Asia, Africa and Europe, but they fell at the last hurdle and will have to wait another while for the chance to elect a female leader.

Britain did it in 1979 with Margaret Thatcher and even Canada, New Zealand, and Iceland have managed to elect a woman to lead them. So why not the USA?

The first woman in the world to be elected to power was back in 1960 when the USA was still all awkward and self-conscious about a Catholic leading. That was the year the people of what was then known as Ceylon voted Mrs Bandaranaike into power. Maybe not their finest moment, but at least they were not voting along gender lines. India then called Mrs Gandhi to lead in 1966, again a choice not without its problems, and in 1969 the Israelis went calling on Mrs Golda Meir.

And didn't they rule!

Mrs Sirimavo Bandaranaike, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka several times, and also President.

So Asia has been far more daring and sophisticated than Europe and the USA in this matter.

Europe has of course caught up big time. After Thatcher was elected most European countries opted for the female alternative at some point in their political lives, the most notable being Angela Merkel of Germany.

However if you take a look at the photographs of this collection of political heavyweights you may want to note how few of those freely elected were easy on the eye. Still, you can't have everything.

Another fact worth highlighting is that Islamic countries don't seem to have a problem with this concept of female leadership. Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Turkey have all risen to the occasion.

What is it with the USA?

Candidate in Crisis: Senator John Mccain

A presidential victory in a General Election, is won by one of the
candidates, obtaining two-hundred and seventy electoral votes, from
a combination of states. With less than a month to go, until election
day, Senator Barack Obama is leading in enough states, to give him,
at this moment in time, two-hundred and sixty four electoral votes.
If you do the math, and nothing changes, Senator Obama will need
one more state, in his corner, to be the next President of the United
States. On the other side, Senator McCain needs to win basically all
of the states that are now in the toss-up column, quite a tall order, if
we might say so.

It then, would not seem, to be so unusual that, with things going as
they are, at the present time, Senator McCain would try to pull out
all the stops and not only throw the kitchen sink, but the bathroom
commode at the Obama campaign. One of McCain's aides,
reportedly said, sometime ago, that the election was not going to
be about issues. This was before the stock market, lost trillions of
dollars in value. Also, before multiple companies either filed for
bankruptcy or merged into other, more healthy companies. The
FDIC and the Federal Reserve, were working together to give
loans of billions of dollars to other companies. These things
occurred, after the statement was made. The economy went
downhill, with the freeze-up of credit, in the banking system,
when banks decided to cease overnight lending to each other and to
consumers, and the stock market continued to go south. The next
statement that reportedly came out of the McCain campaign, was
that they had to turn the page on the economic problems, facing the
country.

Talk about a disconnect, people were beginning to open
their statements, of their 401K retirement accounts, and trying not to
faint, after seeing the huge reduction in value, in such a short time.
Ten thousand homes, being foreclosed on per day, throughout the
country, Florida and California, being some of the worse states.
The housing market problem, of declining values along with the
sub-prime mortgage loan problem, crossed over the seas to the
European and Asian markets, it is now a global problem. With
all of these things making it seem as though, there is no solution
in sight, causing a sort of panic in the public. It would seem as if,
a person running for the presidency, of the United States would
want to address the economic woes of the country, and the people.
Not the McCain campaign, the next thing that the campaign stated,
was that they had to talk about, something other than the economy,
because if they talked about the economy, they would lose. Ergo,
all the garbage, that Governor Palin has been espousing, at her
tremendous rallies. Such as the William Ayers story, a man who
was a weatherman , who bombed Federal buildings, and killed a
man, it is said that he was unrepentant.

At the time this happened,

Senator Obama was eight years old. After Mr. Ayers came out of prison,
he supposedly rehabilitated himself and became a Professor at a
University. During this period, Obama met him and they united in
working to establish schools, in conjunction with theAnnenburg
Center. Governor Palin puts out the falsity that, Senator Obama was “
“palling” around with Bill Ayers, a domestic terrorist.
This, along with other insinuating, inferences, that Obama is a
a scary figure, who the people should not trust. Senator McCain
is trying his hardest, along with his “barracuda”, Governor Palin,
to cast Senator Obama in an unflattering light.

It appears that
the people have more pressing issues, on their minds, like who
will fix the problems that are apparent in the marketplace, who
is going to provide a viable health care program, who will create
new jobs and fix the energy problem? These and more are on
the minds of most Americans, not the fact that when Obama was
eight years old, somebody did something vile, that Obama had
nothing, what-so-ever to do with. Then there comes a news report,
that at sometime in the past, Senator McCain, attended a rally,
where a woman, who had shot a doctor, who performed abortions,
was being praised for her action, by the other attendants. He never
left the rally, or condemned the action. So why don't we all just,
talk about what can be done to solve the problems that exist, which
are taking a toll on the American people, and leave the other stuff to
the soap operas?

Senator McCain has a tough job ahead of him, and he would do very
well to concentrate on developing sound policies, to take us into the
future, and provide some new ideas, that will address some of the
current problems. He should stop wasting time, trying to destroy
Senator Obama's character, and show the country, how he is going
to lead us through the twenty-first century, without being so angry.
There is only so much more time on the clock. The country is watching
and listening, to see what he will be offering.

The final debate will be
held next week in New York, at Hofstra College. Senator Obama and
Senator Biden, have won all of the debates held thus far, according
to the polls, and the people who were watching. It appears that the
long game is almost over. One last thing, the report on Governor
Palin's, possible abuse of power will be released on Friday, October
10, if there is a decision that she was wrong, in firing the
Commissioner, and faces indictment, there could be a possibility,
that Senator McCain would have to chose another running mate.
But, the Republicans, always on top of things, have the ability to squash
things which would not be favorable to a desired outcome, like
elections.

Nuclear Energy

Most people say we need more oil but I personally think or future is in nuclear energy. Some people say that this will ruin the world but frankly the amount of waste it produces is minimal compared to the amount of energy. Sure the waste is toxic but th city I live in is only 24 ½ miles away and I have seen no deformities (so far) and if you ask me I believe this fear of nuclear energy stems back to Chernobyl and the current Hanford cleanup. Well just think about it for a minute. If people had known about radiation don't you think they would have been more careful? After all back then people would touch the damn stuff with their bare hand while wearing a T-Shirt and shorts.

Look at videos of the men wheeling out Fat Man (the second nuclear bomb) and they have no idea what they're getting into. Until Chernobyl we probably didn't have the slightest idea about the size of destruction a meltdown would cause. And now we do. So frankly, unless people want that to happen again they are going to be careful. Some of Hanford's reactors still work and I don't glow green in the dark (despite popular belief). The explosion from the meltdown is nothing to worry about unless your within say 100 feet of it but trust the only thing you should have to worry about is radiation. The main thing with Chernobyl is that the government (a.k.a Russia) didn't tell people about the radiation before many were affected and that was the problem. So think about it and make your choice.

Republicans Command Performance

The cranky old scared republican, John McCain 72, knows the art of survival, but he doesn't look like a boxer, or even the soldier that he is, but to the credit of this nostalgic prisoner of war survivor, it's hard to imagine a man of his pedigree going six rounds with Mohammed Ali or smoking Joe Frazer in Zaire, and remained still standing.

Those professional elite boxers were fast, with nimble footwork, cunning, and they showboated at random. By calming the hysterics, the brave little man, has vowed that in more campaign days ahead, there will be much more positives to unite the nation than the complexity of divisions.

Well, the surprising news for many is that the old survivor is still surviving and scoring unexpected points, Democrats don't count your chickens before they are hatched. British boxer, Amir Khan was knock out by Breidis Prescott in the WBO lightweight division, in under a minute, in stark contrast, john McCain has already gone six rounds with Barrack Obama, and there is still no sign of the devastating knock out punch coming anywhere near him, the rumble in Minnesota has given

John McCain a more acknowledged world wide appeal.

John McCain is not going to make it easy for Barrack Obama to shuffle his way into the white house, it is noticeable from the eyes of the 40 million viewers, who were spell bound by the republican rallying call in their convention, although small in comparison to the glitzy overspend democrats, star spangled gravy train.

this charged atmosphere captivated everyone, even the oppositions supporters were surprise, by the ingenuity of a tremendous fight back speech delivered to the republican party, making the neutrals awake to raise their eye brow and see the tide still turning in favor of the Democrats, who perhaps will be our liberators from a bad economy, but not before hearing the old dog bark with new tricks.

Without doubt, the bravest move was to place a gamble on Sarah Paling coming through big time, and she did absolutely wonderful, serving up a delightful dish for thought, with a recipe for success, she is loveable with matching razor wits to freshen up the party, every now and again its worth having a bet on the underdog, they may just surprise you with what bookmakers may have deemed as foregone conclusion.

If all else fails, this old Vietnam war veteran John McCain, has put up a command performance with rigor, he is unassumingly powerful, let us pray that he maintains stable health, but in the unlikely event of something critical happening to him, he will be going to his well earned haven of rest in a merry old showboat, but for now, he is at the top of his political career, teaching the younger man Barrack Obama a few new tricks, using only a handful of pigeons and one almighty Pit bull in lipstick.

Who would have thought the virtually unknown governor of Alaska envelope such tears of joy so surprisingly, none of the other heavy weights fancied her giving such a command performance, while they were in search of digging for dirt, Sarah Paling armed herself with dynamite power to penetrate the heart with glamorized effect, despite her minimalistic political experience in foreign platforms, the wild gamble has proven to be an extraordinary investment, cunningly orchestrated by the old cranky soldier still deploying the art of survival.

Affirming in more ways than one, John McCain bold choice of Republican vice president nominee Sarah Palin a provocative faithful treat, took the stage with the sweeping sting of a beehive to the delight of the nation, she has already galvanize the outlook of the party, silencing some critics, making new friends, and rejuvenating the popularity of the republicans flagging ratings, which has seen George Bush presidency plummeted to newer low.

John McCain has reason to be joyful with his steely resistance, characterizing discipline, and with absolutely nothing to lose, he is putting up a command performance, where fight back has become more than a polite gesture, it's a status symbol defying the law of agility, if he should fall in the trenches, be assured he now has the most assured rearguard, applying the lip gloss, success for the Republican Party, is coming down to straight talk with principle and applicable dedication.

Limiting Barrack Obama "Beezin" through the white house with George Benson easy stepping jazz, Obama is more than likely nursing some bruises from the polling punches, coming from John McCain weird Salmon fishing inspired choice, this family orientated mother will floor Barrack Obama and Joe Biden if they resort to sexist bully boy tricks, however, Hilary Clinton, the nations overwhelming favorite is waiting in the wings.

When the nation goes to the polls on 4th November 2008, it will be the penultimate last fence of the obstacle course for John McCain vice president nominee Sarah Palin, because in the unlikely event of John McCain unable to continue his term, the reins will fall into her hands of the hockey mother, who already has a zero tolerance with rough justices and centerfold looks, the pro life campaigner who opposes abortion including rape cases.

Sarah Palin may soon be trading blows on Capitol Hill, kicking the wind back up the backside of those stuffy bureaucratic warmongers, already Joe Biden is reeling on the ropes from the latest body blows, and still more bruises are yet to come, when she goes in hard against lifestyle old nasty habits, holding submission in one hand and repentance in the other, seen as the only way to stop society's hemorrhaging.

On foreign policy, her heart beat is in favor with God, and gays and lesbians are encouraged to make restitution where possible, before given the keys to heavens pearly gate, the curriculum under scrutiny of our education system may also be in for a rude awakening shock, when global warming takes we back before evolution to creation.

Will she be more torturous than our present torturer? By obtaining her recent passport to glory, we have seen her pistol packing with a ticket for good will hunting.

Got any Spit?

What's up with the Hillary Women? Have they deceived themselves? Of course! I believe if you really wanted Hillary in the White House then you would be willing to support her issues. So what's really going on? Were we hoping for Bill to get a third term? My guess is that we've got some male haters in the house, and some controlling aggressive females.

Who are these people; who think because this is our season of God's Love; we can control or take over the acts of another's free will? That's called disrespect. You claim this is what your party is about, pro-choice. Did this man not have a right to choose his Vice? Who can say? Hillary may not have wanted to be 'HIS' Vice! God never intends for a feminist deceptive spirit to rule over the land. He wants the men to respect and give honor to the women and permit them to do the things in their heart. He wants mankind to work as one to produce himself again, and again.

Now personally I am glad Senator O, chose Biden. I pray the Democrats get it together. I did not want the Clinton clan on the White hill again, yet. We really do need some newness. Little black blood will do us all a little honor. What are you thinking? I've got so much I want to say about this!!!!. Visit me here> www.gvap.org. Now don't get confused I truly am a Hillary Fan, but I pray she is chosen to be 1st Female President Lady, with attention given to L.A.D.Y. , some day, not Vice... So, I brought my spit bucket in, and I'm spitting on deceitful delegates, especially DNC. Will you help me?

Six Reason Why India Will Beat China

Population

India is experiencing a explosive population growth which is predicted to overtake China as the World's largest population within the next decade. Thus India has the human resources needed to propel its growth. Currently India has the world's youngest population - almost 1 out of every 10 people in India is below the age of 25. Thus the country has a ton of fresh minds entering the various industry, business, and education sectors. China however is facing a population crisis. The One-Child policy has left many parents to abandon their female children or not desire a female child. Thus more males are born to Chinese families to help with the family income. So China is facing an unequal sex ratio (males: females) in which there are less females for every male in the population. By 2015, China's population will peak at 1 billion and then decrease steadily while Chinese government struggles with providing care to its aging millions.

Economy

China's current economic growth is due to resource accumulation from trades while India's growth is increasingly based on a more efficient economic sector. In the long run, a more efficient economy will always overtake and surpass a large cumbersome inefficient economy. This is seen today as China buys debts from foreign powers while trying to market their goods and resources to a global market - while India is focusing on specializing their economy and providing better quality services such as the IT sector. Thus unlike China, outsourcing to India has grown rapidly and by 2010, it is expected to be 56 billion dollars a year. Currently every major company has begun to invest heavily in India and has started to rely on Indian engineers for their next-generation products. Google lead scientist, Krishna Bharat is working on the new core search engine technology in Indian tech capital of Bangalore while companies like GM, Boeing, Motorola, Cisco, HP and many others have begun to make their R&D facilities and Asian headquarters in India. Bangalore, in many ways, has become to Silicon Valley in 1999, with much development and growth headed its way. However, China still manages to hold the 9.5% growth lead thanks to its mass production capabilities - which has begun to see problems due to their bad quality as been by the lead in Kingfisher toys or the poisons in Chinese imported fish.

Industry

China is a leading producer of marketable good and a major mass producer of such goods. Thus to maintain their lead, China is working on industrial plants geared towards their production sector. Meanwhile, India is a rising power in the software, design, services and precision industry. There is no other IT sector in the world that can compare to or even hold its own against India. So what is the key difference maker between India and China? Well China is what we call a light industry producer while India is the heavy Industry producer. While China makes the toys and the T-shirts that we see as common goods on the market, India is making industrial grade steel used in making skyscrapers, tanks and ships while its automotive industry is experiencing unprecedented growth. Thus in the short run, China will experience a growth that's mainly due to its ability to sell common goods, it is going to have trouble with heavy industry. A good example of this would be the Chinese attempt to kick start their automotive industry - which continues to be a failure and fails to reach a global audience. Meanwhile Indian companies such as TATA is making headlines by making more cheaper and efficient cars and making deals with western companies like GM and many others. More recent was the takeover of Jaguar and Land Rover by Indian TATA motors - an indicator of India's heavy growth industry seeking to expand its influence worldwide.

Education System

Every year both India and China produce over 500 thousand engineers who graduate with high degrees - compared to the 60 thousand who graduate in the US. Out of the 500 thousand, a better part of them are Indian graduates. India has the 2nd largest English speaking population out of the English nations and 2nd largest nation with the most English speakers per GDP. India's education system has proven to be far more advanced than its Chinese counterpart. Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) is a world prestigious institution that even rivals western universities at the quality of education it provides - churning out the engineers and IT professionals of tomorrow. Currently, India is the 2nd largest producer of Engineers, scientist and doctors. Other educational intuitions like the Indian Institute of Science (IIsc) and the Business school have all set standards as the world benchmark. Meanwhile in China, low English speaking populations with high illiteracy rates have been a turnoff for many companies and opportunity seekers. India's education have steadily been increasing while corruption, and lack of uncontrolled and wasteful spending has not been beneficial to the education sector.

Environmental Consequences

As with any developing country, India and China both are heavy producers of pollution which continues to contribute to the global warning. Massive and forcible seizures of land, the destruction of usable housing structures, reduction of arable land, and environmental degradation in China has all contributed to a environmental policies for the near future. In an effort to promote the image of growth and modernization, China has done little to research their environmental impact on the planet and thus is harboring an oncoming crisis within the next few decades. India has however been slow to respond like China to the growth, thus making sure safety procedures are more accurately followed. Even today, Chinese companies do not install filters onto their smoke stacks or care for where they dump their industrial garbage while in India, environmental groups (using their freedom of speech & rights) have begun to advocate for better environmental care.

Growth Investment

China's economy began its growth spree almost 13 years (1979) before India even emerged on the global economic market. Even when China did emerge, it began to rely on foreign investments too much. Today, China is dependent on foreign investments. The Chinese stock market has already crashed and is still reeling to recover. Almost 70% of the country's banks have declared bankruptcy and is now riding on foreign investments. Like communist Russia, China is mobilizing its resources trying to issue a mirage of growth by buying US debts, modernizing its army seizing civilian lands for huge building projects - but at what price? In the long run, none of this will stimulate the decaying and crumbling Chinese financial/capital market. There are no private run enterprises in China - for the fear of individualization and loss of government control of the country. So while China is relying on foreign investments and trade, India has been developing a wave of homegrown, innovative private companies, especially in high tech & information sector. For example, even when facing severe international sanctions and trade limitations, Indian civilian and military nuclear program has been effectively successfully, springing forth a homegrown nuclear technology capable of processing Thorium - unlike all the other nuclear technology that uses uranium.

Just like that, Indian companies have grown on their own, and are now emerging on the world markets. TATA Group, Reliance Corp, Mittal Steel and many others have begun to takeover European and American companies - expanding their global reach. India's stock markets have grown exceedingly large; the Bombay stock market has broken numerous domestic and international records. Indian companies are earning more due to the 20% returns on the investment opportunities in India - thus the reason for Japan's recent 5 billion dollar investment in the “industrial corridor” of India. Overall, India is growing at a rate that ensures quality while experiencing record breaking growth - something China has failed to do.

The Power of Solar Energy

Not only is the Sun the driving force behind all life on Earth, it is also a virtually endless source of energy. Unfortunately, this fact has been overlooked by generations of modern humans. Now, though, with oil prices continuing their unending rise, our nation is beginning to see our nearest star as a valuable powerhouse.

Many states are beginning to integrate solar energy on a larger scale than ever before. For example, Florida Power and Light recently announced their plan to build the nation's second-largest solar plant. The facility is to be built in Martin County, and will utilize 180,000 solar mirrors spread across 500 acres. The power generated at the solar plant will supplement Florida Power and Light's existing natural gas facility and produce enough energy to power 11,000 homes. Across the nation in Hawaii, the James Campbell Company is looking to build a 12-acre solar park, which could supplement electric power for 6,700 homes each year. Meanwhile, SAS, a leading software development company, is looking to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by over 1,600 tons annually by created a solar farm at its North Carolina headquarters. In California, MMA Renewable Ventures is helping the state's universities develop solar facilities by financing the cost of construction in return for a favorable power purchase agreement.

While building solar plants can help supplement existing electricity demands, some developers are aiming even higher. In San Diego County, Open Energy is planning to develop a solar-powered condominium complex. Residents of the complex would purchase solar-powered electricity from Open Energy as part of their utility package. An even larger undertaking is being chaired by Actus Lend Lease, a military housing contractor. Actus is currently working with the U.S. Army to build the world's largest, sustainable solar community. The project would encompass approximately 8,000 homes and include ten community centers. Although the budget for this huge undertaking stands at $2.2 billion, it is hoped the community will save 18,000 barrels of oil per year.

For those homeowners who don't plan to move onto a solar commune, single-family homes can implement their own solar-powered generators. Right now, the cost for such an undertaking averages approximately $40,000, and this upgrade can take 7 to 12 years to pay for itself. Not ready to make such a large investment? You can still integrate solar power into your lifestyle. Check with your local power company to see if they offer some solar alternatives. Approximately 800 American utility companies have access to solar energy and will sell it to their clients. There are also consumer-ready products available to those who want to make use of the sun's energy without making a long-term financial commitment. For example, solar ovens can be bought or constructed from a simple kit, and solar chargers can power small electronic devices, such as cell phones and portable DVD players. In fact, MediaStreet has developed a 1GB mp3 player entirely run off the sun's rays.

Today, less than 1% of our nation's electricity comes from solar power. However, with new developments on the rise, this figure is likely to grow exponentially in the near future. Increasing our use of solar power will inevitably reduce carbon-dioxide emissions and mediate our dependence on expensive, non-renewable resources. Thus, solar power has the ability to improve our environment, and our wallets. So, watch for new developments, and make an informed decision regarding your energy needs.
